Automation enhances task efficiency and supports innovation
I currently work with SAP, but I haven't stopped working with that vendor at all. My involvement is cross-technology, so I'm exposed to S/4HANA and other technologies, which are very different from a couple of years ago. Currently, I am working for a consultancy that is agnostic to technology, so tactically and strategically we provide implementation or knowledge on various technologies including Microsoft, Business Central, Project Operations, SAP, and Board, which are different and linked to various business areas. Mostly I am working with Microsoft solutions now. In the last recent year, Microsoft is the technology with which we have the most exposure on current implementations, including both Business Central and Project Operations. I have been working with Microsoft Business Operation for approximately a year and a half. I am working with different products on Azure, as it is the platform we use to implement various types of solutions, including automation, IPA, and artificial intelligence. Other colleagues work with Azure File Storage, Blob Storage, and App Services, as these are more related to cloud work. I am working with Azure Automation, which is a process automation tool. While we have used the alerts and scheduling functions in Azure Automation very often, I am not able to judge or review their effectiveness. Integrating Azure Automation with other Azure services is very easy because there are pre-integration tools available that can be easily integrated with different technologies. The main benefits Azure Automation provides include being useful for recurrent tasks, which help reduce manual intervention and allow people to focus on more added value tasks, enhanced by artificial intelligence for more complex duties. I rate Azure Automation an eight out of ten.

Achieves rapid results in data migration and has an intuitive user interface
I find SnapLogic to be user-friendly, especially for beginners with limited experience in data engineering or ETL. The interface is interactive, allowing me to quickly learn how to run pipelines and achieve production-ready results swiftly. This agility translates to cost savings, especially for smaller projects and proofs of concept, as less time and effort are needed to deliver results.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Azure Automation is the scripting."
"Overall product rating is nine out of ten."
"The solution is easy to implement and easy to use. It's basically just drag and drop."
"What I found most valuable in SnapLogic is the ETL feature, particularly the Transform Snap Pack, for example, any kind of reading or writing on Transform Snaps. Other than that, all the third-party connectivity tools such as the SAP Snap Pack, Salesforce Snap Pack, Workday Snap Pack, even the ServiceNow Snap Pack, I find all those are pretty useful in SnapLogic."
"By using snaps instead of functions in code, you can see the building blocks of the integration visually. This helps a lot."
"The solution could improve its API management."
"SnapLogic is a great platform for establishing integrations among various systems or patterns by using any kind of interface. If something is not supported by predefined snaps – snaps are connectors in SnapLogic – you can create them (custom snaps) or write a script."
"I found SnapLogic valuable and what I found most valuable about it was its ETL feature. I also found its automation feature valuable. It can be used for automating manual activities. It can be used as a middleware for certain transactional data processing and minimal datasets and ETL activities."
"I find the reusability and the snaps to be very valuable features."

Cons

"The solution’s user interface could be improved."
"What could be improved in SnapLogic is that it was not capable in terms of processing a large number of datasets, but at that point, SnapLogic was evolving. It didn't give a lot of Snaps. I heard recently there are a lot of Snaps getting added and the solution was being enhanced, particularly to connect different data sources. When I was working with SnapLogic six months to one year back, I faced the issue of it not being capable of handling a huge volume of datasets or didn't have much of Snaps, and that was the drawback. If there is any large number of data sets, that's based on or depends on your configuration. If it is a huge volume of data, other traditional ETL tools such as Informatica and Talend can process millions and billions of records, while in SnapLogic, the Snaplex fails or it returns an error in terms of processing that huge volume of data. Informatica, Talend, or any other ETL tool can run for hours in terms of jobs, while SnapLogic jobs fail when the threshold is reached. SnapLogic isn't able to withstand processing, but I don't know if that's still an issue at present, because the solution is getting enhanced and it's been more than six months to one year since I last worked with SnapLogic. There are now a lot of Snaps getting added to the solution, and if it can overcome the limitations I mentioned, SnapLogic could be the go-to tool because currently, it's not being used as much in organizations. It's being used comparatively less compared to other retail tools."
"I would like to see more performance-related dashboards, ones that display the cost of a pipeline, for instance. Also, it would be helpful to have management dashboards for overseeing pipelines and connections."
"I don't think the support has better knowledge about technologies and tool support. There were lots of times when we had an issue, and it took me quite a long time to explain the problem. I feel like some of the support staff don't know their product well."
"SnapLogic doesn't provide any on-premises software, so users have only cloud-based software to use."
"While new features are always welcome, I do not have anything else at the top of my mind currently."
"We'd like zero downtime in the future."
"One area for improvement in SnapLogic is the transparency in the flow of data. It needs to have more transparency. Right now, users only have a preview option at the end of any job flow, so at the end of any Snap Pack, there is a data preview option that lets you review the data and see how it's moving. What would make the solution better is more debugging and more access to change data from the preview panel or more functionality in terms of the preview option."
"It needs some more snaps. I would like to see some of the features be changed in some of the snaps."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"When comparing it with solutions like Apigee or MuleSoft, it still offers better value."
"The pricing is okay."
"SnapLogic's price is high compared to the other tools available in the market."
"SnapLogic is not expensive. It's reasonably priced."
"I used the free trial."
"They have pricing/usage tiers that are easy to move up or down."
"It is a higher initial cost than other easy-to-use integration apps."
"The cost with SnapLogic is an annual license and better than Informatica."
