Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The process is now simplified because there won't be maintenance. Usually we can take a snapshot of the number I need. We can automate the backup snapshots and we can restore it very quickly. We get many benefits from the application.""Scalable and stable solution for migrating databases to AWS, with valuable features such as parallel full load and continuous data replication.""It's pretty useful when we need to migrate something big from a different type of database that AWS Data Migration Services supports.""The tools are very user-friendly.""The solution is stable and reliable."

"Low-priced reporting and analytics solution, with good scalability and stability. It has on-premises and cloud versions that are cohesive and can integrate well.""The most useful functions of Qlik Replicate are the data manipulation to transformations.""A valuable feature of Qlik Replicate is that you do not need ETL. It's easy to use—you choose two systems and it automatically replicates them. Even if there is no CDC available, if you insert it and update it, and there is nothing to find out, then you can use Qlik Replicate. It's a good product."

Cons
"Database Migration Service could be more integrated. I think that it makes sense to add integration to these functions. For example, AWS Glue has a feature called Orchestrator to create data flows, and that's more straightforward.""I think that Amazon needs to improve the migration scenarios after analytics""Migrating from here and pushing the data from on-premise to AWS cloud is a big challenge and a few more services from AWS would be helpful. For example, we are currently using ILDB internet tools which move data from on-premise to the AWS cloud. A few more services would be really helpful for me to move the master data.""This solution is compatible with only AWS.""More endpoints need to be supported by AWS Database Migration Service. There's also a need for more control and transparency on the product, including better technical support."

"When you remote into it the Qlik Replicate UI a lot of times it just freezes. We set up the EC2, to allow them to go to the server and click on the Replicate icon, it just opens up and just sits there. At that point, we have to go into the EC2 and then reboot the server. This should be fixed, it is frustrating.""Support for this product is not great. It needs to be improved.""This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved."
