Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has helped to simplify cross-dependency between MVS and Open systems jobs.""Easy configuration and integration with SAP.""This solution enables us to improve our daily processing times. We can do everything faster than before we used this solution.""We get better reports than we use to have.""We need to have things run in a very sequential order, so it is very useful that we can schedule the work flows.""The web UI is beneficial and the granular security policies allow us to cover all of our audit requirements.""I prefer AutoSys over the other ones out there for ease of use, ease of understanding, and getting people to understand how the tool works.""The most valuable aspects of AutoSys Workload Automation are its performance, scalability, and ease of getting started for new users."

"Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is very scalable.""It's helped us solve problems surrounding patching, installing, and reporting different patches, etc., on the virtual machines.""It works well for the endpoints for the customer I'm consulting. It has a bunch of knobs, and you can tune it to do lots of things.""Valuable features include configurations enforcement, compliance data gathering, and deployment of a standardized OS.""Microsoft Configuration Manager gives different tools in one solution.""This solution helps us by automating the patching of our system.""The most valuable feature is the graphical-based reports of software updates that have been successful, the ones that have failed, and a summary of where the failures are what security breaches may occur.""The solution effectively handles inventory management, deployment, and reporting."

Cons
"The WCC could be improved.""We have to escalate through channels to get to somebody who knows what's going on. It takes time that we do not necessarily have.""I would like to see the Service Orchestrator, a B2B product, and maybe a process audit.""This product needs to improve its graphical user interface.""We are trying to see if we can use this from a cloud perspective with AWS, Azure, and other clouds, but it seems that there is no cloud integration in this product. We would like to see cloud integration. We are very pleased with this solution, but we are moving our application to the cloud, and we found out that it doesn't support any cloud features. So, we are trying to find a replacement.""It would be helpful to be able to monitor and manage workload windows so we could minimize downstream applications. This would allow us easier access to the applications.""The cross-platform arena, where you can run work on multiple platforms, needs improvement.""The reporting system, currently, could be better."

More AutoSys Workload Automation Cons →

"There should probably be better remote support. They should also continue to improve on patch management, patching, and creating or turning products in software into deployable apps.""The product needs to improve scalability.""The solution should be more compatible with different versions of Linux.""The main thing is that SCCM has to become an appliance instead of a server. When I say appliance, it has to come preconfigured so that it is drop-shipped into the enterprise and then you activate the feature sets that you want. It should pull down all the latest binaries. Once that is all there, it should have a discovery tool which goes out and discovers the assets within an enterprise. If the server, workstation, and applications are all coming from the same vendor, why not have the vendor do this work for us and automate it as much as it possibly can?""The main room for improvement is the on-screen display. I think it would be good if some improvements were made.""One area of improvement is regarding the patching of Office 365 products. We have some difficulties on this side, and it can be improved.""The TSM component could be improved.""I would like to see some improvements in WSUS and control of other, non-Microsoft, product updates."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Validate how many agents you need beforehand."
  • "CA pricing has been a problem, and not looked upon favorably here at all."
  • "People need to pay attention to how they use their ESP agents on the distributed platform. That's where some of the cost comes in, based on how many you need or how many you use."
  • "I certainly think the pricing is worth the value."
  • "It is overpriced."
  • "The pricing needs to be improved. Some of my client's complained that it was too expensive."
  • "The price of this solution is reasonable and there is an annual license required."
  • "There is an annual license to use AutoSys Workload Automation."
  • More AutoSys Workload Automation Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing and licensing are horrible. You have to not look at dollar value to use SCCM. It's super-duper expensive but it works. The acquisition cost is expensive, it's labor-intensive. But it works."
  • "Pricing and licensing are a downside of SCCM. It's expensive. I'd have to confirm this, but I think they changed the licensing to core-based instead of socket-based. It's not cheap, because you have to buy the software, you have to buy SQL. Another thing we learned from talking to Microsoft is that they provide you a license for SQL if you run it on the same box as the primary server. If you run it outside that box, you have to buy SQL. Microsoft does recommend you running it on the same box because of performance. But then, in order to run SQL, SCCM, and everything on the same box, you better have some resources. It's an expensive solution. There's no doubt about it."
  • "Overall, I think it's fine. It's pretty much in-line because there are ways to offset it with the Office 365 licensing."
  • "SCCM comes with its own version of SQL Server. If you use that SQL Server with SCCM and don't use it for another applications than you get an SQL Server for free."
  • "The licensing is good because they have various options, depending on what you are looking for."
  • "Pricing is negotiable with Microsoft, depending upon which of their packages you choose."
  • "When you compare this solution with other tools in the market you might actually find a lot of variation in the pricing and that's why people opt for the other tools rather than Microsoft tools."
  • "Its price is okay because it is part of our licensing."

    Reviews from Real Users

AutoSys Workload Automation stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its file transfer protocol and its visibility for batch processing. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

One PeerSpot reviewer, an IT consultant at a computer software company, writes, “The most valuable features of AutoSys Workload Automation are the file transfer protocol and file watcher. The solution has a user-friendly user interface. It is very simple to use. You have a scope of all your jobs, jobs are what you call tasks that you will automate in the solution. It lets you monitor everything in these jobs.

Another PeerSpot reviewer, a head at an insurance company, notes, “It gives a real-time view of all the batch processing that we have. Monitoring-wise, it is really good. It also gives us the ability to connect different software processes.”

Microsoft Configuration Manager helps IT manage PCs and servers, keeping software up-to-date, setting configuration and security policies, and monitoring system status while giving employees access to corporate applications on the devices that they choose. When Configuration Manager is integrated with Microsoft Intune, you can manage corporate-connected PCs and Macs along with cloud-based mobile devices running Windows, iOS, and Android, all from a single management console.

New features of Configuration Manager, such as the support of Windows 10 in-place upgrade, co-management with Microsoft Intune, Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise Servicing Dashboard, integration with Windows Update for Business, and more make deploying and managing Windows easier than ever before.
