Accommodates diverse use cases and effectively meets customer requirements
AI agents need further improvements. AI agent technology in agentic process automation is still evolving. We have only scratched the surface, and there are many potential use cases yet to be explored. As technology advances, I believe it will enable us to implement more comprehensive automation solutions. Document Automation has issues related to speed. When I compare Document Automation with IQ Bot, IQ Bot is faster than Document Automation. My understanding is that they are still evolving Document Automation, and this issue of slowness will be resolved in the upcoming .35 version, so we are good with that. They are working on signature identification and validations for handwritten documents. Currently, we are able to extract data out of scanned but digital images, but there is still scope for improvement for handwritten documents.

An easy-to-use solution with great integration
It involves a lot of investment. The learning curve is not similar to other products, like K2. Regarding the user interface, I have to access workflows and define and manage the processes on the variant of a Windows application, which is not accessible if you don't have access from the client to install it on the workstation. And most of the solutions we're currently evaluating are web-based. Our customers and developers have complained that the UI is a little bit confusing. It has lots of elements. It's not user-intuitive compared to other products. Other than that, the licensing model is our main concern.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We get a significant ROI even though the licensing cost is higher than average. The gains we realize from the initial development make up for it. In the last three years, I estimate we have saved around 2,200 hours of labor. To date, we've saved almost $6 million."
"In Automation Anywhere we liked the drag-and-drop and easily stitching the recording of mouse control and keyboard controls."
"We mostly used the Database commands in order to make the process faster and more secure, rather than using Excel or a CSV for reading the input files."
"With Automation Anywhere, they receive their financial statements while still on the call."
"The OCR is the most valuable feature, though this is a third party feature that we have integrated. It is quite easy to integrate with other solutions."
"What Automation Anywhere is offering is amazing from a back-end office accounting standpoint."
"The most valuable feature of Automation Anywhere is the ease with which it integrates with our existing APIs."
"Human errors have been rectified due to bot usage."
"It's very simple to use and the integration features between Java and other services within the workflow are very easy."

Cons

"One key feature for improvement I have been providing feedback on through the MVP program is enhancing natural language conversation to action."
"In A2019 the dependencies that are being downloaded take a longer time that should be reduced. Migration utility should be provided so we can easily migrate from lower versions to higher versions."
"Room for improvement is more on the IQ Bot side: How quickly we can adopt and deploy it?"
"Automation Anywhere has some limitation with its integrations. You can build your logic with MetaBots and .NET components, e.g., if something is not gathered by Automation Anywhere or built into functionality, you can write a MetaBot. A MetaBot is like an external component. You can write it through C# or .NET code, and make a DLL, and import it. This is not open to all data types or EXE functionalities which can be written through C#. You have to define your variable types, matching them with Automation Anywhere existing variable types. Because of the knowledge required, I cannot let another person, who doesn't know Automation Anywhere, build my external DLL code."
"Some NLP AI is required to work in combination with RPA, especially for reading unstructured emails."
"The user interface should be enhanced to make things simpler for the user."
"If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue."
"Built-in HTML features are lagging in this solution, whereas in UiPath, they are very good."
"Our customers and developers have complained that the UI is a little bit confusing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is reasonable and affordable. If you consider the tasks that we can get done using this, the pricing is reasonable and affordable."
"The Community Edition is a good offering from the company."
"We generally follow the Gain-Sharing Pricing model, which enables the customer to start getting the RPA benefits right from day one of their implementation."
"The product starts at $10,000 and then it's up to you regarding how much you can consume."
"We save 34,000 hours of time per year and have recouped up to $6000 in lost revenue."
"We brought onshore a lot of what we were doing offshore, saving our company close to $20 million."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"Automation Anywhere pricing and licensing are competitive compared to the other automation vendors."
"The price could definitely be lower."
