CyberArk manager at a comms service provider with 10,001+ employees
Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's architecture is thin and scalable. We also like the product's ease of deployment. My company is also impressed with the solution's number of connectors."
"Overall, it has been a great product and helped out a lot with being able to manage privileged accounts."
"It's secure and reliable. I especially appreciate that it's locked down and only allows access to authorized components."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager assists in meeting compliance and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and SOX, ensuring I adhere to necessary standards in my operations."
"It has a lot of good tools, including everything we need."
"Our privileged accounts are now stored in a more secure location and lateral movement within the network have been lessened."
"We use the solution for password vaulting, password rotation, session management, and secret management."
"From my experience, the kind of work I have done with this solution, it's absolutely amazing."
"If you want more security, get CyberArk."

Cons

"The tool needs to improve its pricing."
"The stability depends on the infrastructure it is installed on, which is important because CyberArk does not have the hardware appliance."
"It is easily customized, and that customization makes it very easy to start trying to shoehorn the solution into roles it was never intended to fill."
"We'd like to see the creation of some kind of memo field for each device account, which could be used, in our network at least, to leave a note about the device for either the security or network engineering team members."
"More additional features as far as the REST is concerned, because we have something which was the predecessor to REST. A lot of the features which were in the predecessor have not necessarily been ported over to REST yet."
"The continuous scanning of the assets is limited to Windows and Unix. We like to have the solution scan any databases, network devices, and security devices for privileged accounts. That would be very helpful."
"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault's GUI has certain shortcomings that need improvement."
"I find it hard to mention a point of improvement because I'm happy with the platform. The only thing I would say is that they can improve their price."
"The license is expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten. We are using the yearly license."
"It is in line with its competitors, but all such solutions cost too much money."
"From a client perspective, CyberArk's pricing is fair but there is a significant increase each year. They should limit the price increase because this could potentially drive customers to other partners. Price changes should be at defined intervals. There should not be sudden jumps."
"It's not a cheap application. It's very expensive."
"The pricing for CyberArk is on the higher side compared to other Privileged Access Management products. Something should be done regarding enterprise licensing for long-standing customers."
"It can be an expensive product."
"In comparison to other products on the market, CyberArk is a more costly product."
"CyberArk provides all the features bundled. This is compared to other vendors who provide them as a different license for each functionality."
"The price of this solution is quite reasonable."
