Attribution has enabled precise campaign decisions but pricing and support still need improvement
Pricing is a major area for improvement, as costs rise quickly as our app grows. The pricing becomes significantly expensive as event volume increases, so a clearer or more predictable pricing tier instead of a pure pay-per-event structure would be beneficial. Confusion around billing contracts is an issue, with several users feeling locked in and confused about pricing, charges, and contracts. Support is quite inconsistent, with no dedicated account managers available to resolve queries. Technically and functionally, Appsflyer looks good, but accuracy can sometimes face issues. Some users report inaccurate or inflated metrics that undermine trust, affecting the numbers recorded. We have faced this ourselves. We also experience dashboard issues occasionally, such as when the dashboard gets stuck in a loop and will not allow us to see it quickly during login, generally taking some time or requiring us to load the same page repeatedly. This happens occasionally, but Appsflyer is still a good tool.

Semantic search has transformed financial document discovery and supports real-time RAG chat
On the integration side, Pinecone's Python SDK is straightforward. It integrates well with the usual AI stack like LangChain and LlamaIndex. That was smooth for me. Where it could improve is around documentation for edge cases. For instance, handling metadata filtering at scale, understanding the right embedding dimensions for different use cases, and best practices for indexing strategies. Those topics felt sparse in the documentation. More real-world tutorials specific to common patterns like RAG or recommendation systems would help developers ramp up faster. On support, the community is helpful, but if you hit something tricky and you are on a lower-tier plan, getting quick answers can be slow. Better-tiered support or more comprehensive troubleshooting guides would be valuable, especially for production deployments where latency is critical.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"A specific positive outcome I've seen from using Appsflyer is getting insights into iOS with their single source of truth, which I use consistently for data analysis and getting a report that is agreeable between the client and me."
"Appsflyer is one of the strongest platforms for mobile attribution, deep linking, and ecosystem integration, and it actually delivers strong value for performance driven brands."
"From the Appsflyer dashboard, I would say the most valuable feature I use while developing is the real-time tracking feature, which is pretty good."
"Appsflyer has changed my organization positively as it marks the beginning of client engagement and the client engaging funnel."
"In my opinion, the best features Appsflyer offers are reliable performance, very fast speeds, and a user-friendly UI."
"The dashboard and real-time analytics are the main reasons I use Appsflyer when I am tracking order conversions."
"There is a very big positive impact from using Appsflyer, as implementing it gives us much clearer visibility into campaign quality and user behaviors, with a significant improvement in ROAS optimization."
"Appsflyer has positively impacted my organization by helping me quickly integrate with Facebook and Reddit without having to write a bunch of APIs or having to install the Facebook SDK into my mobile apps."
"Pinecone is good for POCs and small projects because it's very easy to implement and very easy to use."
"The most valuable features of the solution are similarity search and maximal marginal relevance search for retrieval purposes."
"Once I switched to vector search with Pinecone, users could find contextually relevant documents much faster."
"Pinecone is a great platform; it's easy to use with clean SDKs, so it becomes always a go-to option when I think of a vector database."
"Pinecone helped us in achieving that, and we are now very fast and accurately generating outputs from our database."
"Pinecone has positively impacted my organization by helping people in needle-in-a-haystack situations, as previously they had to grind through PDF documents, PowerPoint documents, and websites, but now with Pinecone, they can ask questions and receive references to documents along with the page numbers where that information exists, so they can use it as a reference or backtrack, especially for things such as FDA approvals where they can quote the exact page number from PDF documents, eliminating hallucination and providing real-time data that relies on an external vector database with enough guardrails to ensure it won't provide information not in the vector database, confining it to the information present in the indexes."
"Pinecone has positively impacted my organization by enabling fast similarity searches using metrics such as cosine or Euclidean distance on billions of vectors with low latency around 20 to 100 milliseconds, with key capabilities including hybrid search combining semantic and keyword, real-time updates, filtering, and re-ranking."
"The semantic search capability is very good."

Cons

"One improvement that Appsflyer can make is to find better ways to access aggregating raw data."
"One challenge is attribution discrepancies; sometimes the numbers among Appsflyer, Meta, and Google internal backend events do not match, especially after iOS ATT changes."
"An area of improvement for Appsflyer is the large number of reports and dashboards."
"Some clients also mention that the pricing for Appsflyer can become expensive as apps scale and attribution volumes grow, especially for high growth consumer apps."
"I would say sometimes the integration could be a bit tough, especially because I struggled when I was integrating Appsflyer into my Apple Search Ads and my iOS application."
"Pricing is a major area for improvement, as costs rise quickly as our app grows."
"Appsflyer could improve its documentation so that developers can implement it better."
"Many times we run into problems, and Appsflyer tech support is hard to reach."
"I want to suggest that Pinecone requires a login and API key, but I would prefer not to have a login system and to use the environment directly."
"From a cost perspective, I believe Pinecone is a bit expensive compared to other solutions such as FAISS and Milvus, which are free and open source, while Weaviate is more cost-effective at scale, so I would request improvement in Pinecone's pricing structure."
"One major issue I have noticed with Pinecone is that it does not allow me to search based on metadata."
"If Pinecone could increase the free quota and not kill the free quota after seven days, that would be great."
"If Pinecone gave us RAG as a service, we'd be more than happy to use that."
"The product fails to offer a serverless type of storage capacity."
"If I were to add something about necessary improvements, I would say reducing the cost, as the vector database cost is significantly higher than a normal MongoDB or any other database cost."
"The major improvement I am expecting from Pinecone is increased vector size."
