Centralized secret management has improved multi-cloud security and automated key rotation
I sometimes feel that there are documentation gaps in Akeyless Secrets Management. The documentation could be more detailed for advanced integrations and troubleshooting. Some organizations feel that there is a trust concern because the secrets are stored in Akeyless Secrets Management and it is not open-sourced. It is completely closed-source. If something goes wrong or someone hacks Akeyless Secrets Management, there is a huge drawback. These are concerns my organization and many other organizations are facing. The UI/UX could be better on the homepage and many other pages. Pricing transparency should also be improved. The pricing should include discounted pricing for regular customers or regular enterprise customers.

Improves security posture by actively reducing critical vulnerabilities and guiding remediation
Snyk's main features include open-source vulnerability scanning, code security, container security, infrastructure as code security, risk-based prioritization, development-first integration, continuous monitoring and alerting, automation, and remediation. The best features I appreciate are the vulnerability checking, vulnerability scanning, and code security capabilities, as Snyk scans all open-source dependencies for known vulnerabilities and helps with license compliance for open-source components. Snyk integrates into IDEs, allowing issues to be caught as they appear in the code dynamically and prioritizes risk while providing remediation advice. Snyk provides actionable remediation advice on where vulnerabilities can exist and where code security is compromised, automatically scanning everything and providing timely alerts. Snyk has positively impacted my organization by improving the security posture across all software repositories, resulting in fewer critical vulnerabilities, more confidence in overall product security, and faster security compliance for project clients. Snyk has helped reduce vulnerabilities significantly. Initially, the repository had 17 to 31 critical and high vulnerabilities, but Snyk has helped manage them down to just five vulnerabilities, which are now lower and not high or critical.

Pros

"Akeyless Secrets Management is a very good tool, and I have not used a better one than it."
"I would recommend others to use Akeyless Secrets Management; it is a brilliant security platform, very easy to use, and does exactly what it says it should."
"Akeyless Secrets Management has positively impacted my organization as it helped store our secrets in a right way, in a proper controlled way where you can view, update, and at the same time, it helps in updating the passwords very effectively in the cloud running environment."
"Akeyless Secrets Management stands out because it combines SaaS simplicity with a Zero-Knowledge cryptographic design, reducing operational overhead without fully sacrificing control."
"Akeyless Secrets Management has positively impacted our organization because it has improved security through simpler credential rotation policies."
"We feel more secure because we do have a way to measure the security and the risk factors of projects."
"What is valuable about Snyk is its simplicity."
"It helps us meet compliance requirements, by identifying and fixing vulnerabilities, and to have a robust vulnerability management program."
"Fugue provides core capabilities that enable visualization, discovery, and compliance automation."
"We have hundreds of source code repositories, and Snyk scans them in minutes (it just looks at package management files to identify the dependency tree), Snyk uses the same infrastructure to scan for all customers on the cloud which gives it lots of scalability opportunities compared to some other vendors where the software is installed on-prem or on a dedicated instance which makes the software pricy and limited."
"The product's most valuable features are an open-source platform, remote functionality, and good pricing."
"The CLI feature is quite useful because it gives us a lot of flexibility in what we want to do. If you use the UI, all the information is there and you can see what Snyk is showing you, but there is nothing else that you can change. However, when you use the CLI, then you can use commands and can get the output or response back from Snyk. You can also take advantage of that output in a different way. For the same reason, we have been using the CLI for the hard gate in the pipeline: Obtain a particular CDSS score for vulnerability. Based on that information, we can then decide if we want to block or allow the build. We have more flexibility if we use the CLI."
"Snyk allows us to spend less time securing applications, increasing their productivity."

Cons

"Akeyless Secrets Management platform could be improved with a more beginner-friendly interface."
"Akeyless Secrets Management could be improved in several areas. The initial setup was quite difficult for me."
"Some organizations feel that there is a trust concern because the secrets are stored in Akeyless Secrets Management and it is not open-sourced."
"You need to go to the tool, export it as a CSV, and then find it, which is ridiculous."
"They were a couple of issues which happened because Snyk lacked some documentation on the integration side."
"Could include other types of security scanning and statistical analysis"
"Scalability has some issues because we have a lot of code and its use is mandatory."
"Because Snyk has so many integrations and so many things it can do, it's hard to really understand all of them and to get that information to each team that needs it... If there were more self-service, perhaps tutorials or overviews for new teams or developers, so that they could click through and see things themselves, that would help."
"There is always more work to do around managing the volume of information when you've got thousands of vulnerabilities. Trying to get those down to zero is virtually impossible, either through ignoring them all or through fixing them. That filtering or information management is always going to be something that can be improved."
"I would like to give further ability to grouping code repositories, in such a way that you could group them by the teams that own them, then produce alerting to those teams. The way that we are seeing it right now, the alerting only goes to a couple of places. I wish we could configure the code to go to different places."
"Snyk is a premium-priced product, so it's kind of expensive. The big con that I find frustrating is when a company charges extra for single sign-on (SSO) into their SaaS app."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The solution is less expensive than Black Duck."
"Snyk is an expensive solution."
"You can get a good deal with Snyk for pricing. It's a little expensive, but it is worth it."
"Their licensing model is fairly robust and scalable for our needs. I believe we have reached a reasonable agreement on the licensing to enable hundreds of developers to participate in this product offering. The solution is very tailored towards developers and its licensing model works well for us."
"For what Snyk offers, it has the best cost-benefit I have ever seen because you're buying the license per user."
"The license model is based on the number of contributing developers. Snyk is expensive, for a startup company will most likely use the community edition, while larger companies will buy the licensed version. The price of Snyk is more than other SLA tools."
"The product's price is okay."
"Presently, my company uses an open-source version of the solution. The solution's pricing can be considered quite reasonable owing to the features they offer."
