Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"This product has unique capabilities that lead the product category in test data management, cloning and recovery.""Very user-friendly and the QSA is very good.""Very user-friendly and the QSA is very good.""Actifio was very stable. Whenever they identified bugs, they would promptly provide us with patches.""They will assist me in achieving whatever budget issue the client may be having."

More Actifio Pros →

"It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.""We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.""The solution is dependent on the network bandwidth. For example, if they have a bandwidth of 10Mbps the solution will run a little heavier. If the bandwidth is good the solution runs well.""The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution.""We have never had any issues with scalability.""The setup is pretty straightforward.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine."

Cons
"The solution doesn't support AIX software or in-cloud, and we have a lot of servers running on AIX and Oracle.""Areas that need improvement would be the support for recovery in the physical environment.""The initial setup is complex.""Lacks the option to price backup costs within the solution itself.""While the product does support various databases, the company needs to make more of an effort to support N-minus-one compatibility."

More Actifio Cons →

"I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""I have not seen any areas that need improvement at this time.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""The UI could be a little sleeker.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "Support is very good. They send out a VM link and help you fix any issues."
  • More Actifio Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We were happy with the pricing that they gave us."
  • "They license us on a per machine basis. We have a set number of machines, which we have licensed."
  • "I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."
  • "The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair."
  • "Where the price adds up, there are CloudEndure licenses, then there is the AWS environment, and finally, there is the AWS storage, so cumulatively, it adds up."
  • "It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
  • "CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate the price of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery a six out of ten."

    Overview
Actifio is the world’s leading Enterprise Data-as-a-Service (EDaaS) platform. It enables thousands of users around the world to deliver their data just as they deliver their applications and infrastructure… as a service available instantly, anywhere. An enterprise-class software platform powered by patented Virtual Data Pipeline™ technology, Actifio frees data from traditional infrastructure to accelerate adoption of hybrid cloud, build higher quality applications faster, and improve business resiliency and availability. AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.
