Effective data recovery with strong backup features
I am not using the blockchain-based data integrity verification feature. We have not implemented proactive ransomware protection and anti-malware features, so they have not been helpful to my customers. For shared drives, when configuring SharePoint services for backup, licensing becomes difficult to understand, so that would be a point of interest for improvement. The licensing features should be improved. The licensing for SharePoint should be more visible for SharePoint services backup to make it more feasible and understandable. In terms of management, group management is not available for bulk activities, which I have previously given feedback on in a training session conducted by Acronis. If you want to do any recovery for bulk users, the option for bulk activities is not available in Acronis currently. Bulk activity should be available. Technical support from Acronis requires some improvisation; we do not get on-time support, and we face issues connecting with the account manager, which needs to be improved.

Good automation and worth the money with helpful disaster recovery
The initial setup requires a design and engineering phase. You can't just pick the product and click next, next, finish - especially if you're planning on making sure that it's going to be available during a disaster. It does require sitting down and designing it. So it's not like a home-use product that you can just go and install and start using it with no consequence.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My customers are finding value in Acronis Disaster Recovery, as they are happy with the tool and continue to use the services after facing many situations where they found it useful and got good returns on their investment."
"As a user or company, we found Acronis is beneficial in terms of support, product, and scalability."
"Acronis Disaster Recovery is worth the investment because it saves data and allows backup at any time, which is particularly valuable considering the current threats from viruses, trojans, and crypto-attacks."
"The most valuable feature is the hot restore capability."
"One key feature is it encrypts your data at rest which is really good."
"The recovery feature is user-friendly and offers effective protection for our backups."
"The most valuable features of the product for me are its backup and recovery functionalities."
"The tool's real-time replication is fast and enhances data security."
"The feature that automates most of the tasks is the most valuable since you do not have to worry about making sure that you follow the steps one by one manually during a disaster."
"Our impression of the solution for providing a clean, malware-free recovery and protecting our AD backups from compromise is that it is probably one of the best options available."
"I like the zero-touch or zero-intervention aspect the most when it comes to performing a forest restoration (FOHO). It is really automated. If you set everything correctly, it will restore your forest without any manual steps."

Cons

"The product should improve compute points."
"We need the server configuration capacity to be enlarged with the solution's help, as it does not currently include capabilities for storage expansion during recovery."
"I wish the Disaster Recovery system could do more, like integrating irregularity features and combining VLP functionalities."
"From an improvement perspective, the tool should allow users to add more data centers in the cloud."
"Technical support from Acronis requires some improvisation; we do not get on-time support, and we face issues connecting with the account manager, which needs to be improved."
"Acronis Disaster Recovery should provide software information wherein I can change my setup to collect more information."
"For the backup to compete in the enterprise market, there must be improvements."
"The tool is a little bit expensive."
"I identified a gap with their Recovery Manager for AD Forest Edition. That software can't recover for us if we have a complete malware/ransomware-type scenario where we lose all our domain controllers. If you lose the entire forest, you can't get it back up with the Forest Edition. You have to use their Disaster Recovery Edition."
"Inside the console, when you change something in the computer collection, there's no history or log showing what's been done. For example, if I add or remove a domain controller from the compare collection, the console doesn't record the time or the user who made the change. This makes it difficult to manage the console, especially for auditing purposes. It lacks login capability within Recovery Manager for Active Directory."
"One of the things they can do is give the user the ability to skip the prechecks and verifications."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the solution is inexpensive."
"This pricing is quite reasonable."
"Acronis Disaster Recovery is a cheap solution."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is expensive and ten is cheap, I rate the solution's pricing two or three out of ten."
"The tool's pricing is reasonable."
"The tool is a little bit expensive. When it comes to pricing, there is a range for the VMs and endpoints. It depends. A set of backups on a DR probably costs around 10 to 20 USD per endpoint."
"The solution’s pricing is average."
"The product has an affordable price."
"Comparing it to other vendors, it seems to be affordable. So, it is worth the money."
