Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Unified security monitoring has reduced alert fatigue and improves proactive threat hunting
I use real-time monitoring in ReliaQuest GreyMatter, which significantly improves my security posture. The unified interface helps reduce alert fatigue. I would estimate it saves around 20% in alert fatigue reduction. The automated threat hunting capabilities in ReliaQuest GreyMatter help me stay ahead of threats. The machine learning algorithm benefits my threat intelligence by providing deeper insights and predictions. I use various metrics to rate the success of the predictive threat intelligence in ReliaQuest GreyMatter.

Built faster threat response and improved visibility with real-time monitoring and flexible deployment
TrendAI Vision One allows us to monitor attacks in real time, which is a significant benefit. We can quickly see where the attack is coming from. TrendAI Vision One enables us to use different products with a flexible license. For example, if a customer is using endpoint security and wants to switch to another solution, they can instantly use a different Trend Micro product, such as email. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce the time to detect and respond to different threats, as it can respond to attacks very quickly. With playbook templates, in cases of recurring attacks, responses can be made quickly using predefined playbooks. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce noise from false positives. There have been false positives before, but it was due to the customer not telling us which app they were using. Best practice configurations must be applied properly to avoid such issues. TrendAI Vision One helps customers consolidate the use of security vendors and reduce silos by offering one platform for all product management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"After deploying Traps, we saw the performance of the network improve by 65 to 70 percent."
"The multi-layered approach to the product gives you confidence that it will stop exploits, ransomware, worms, or viruses from compromising endpoints, essentially providing peace of mind."
"Technical support is the best in class, in my opinion, because they have invested heavily in research and development."
"The stability is pretty good except for one or two cases, and based on the performance, it's been okay with pretty high performance, no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze."
"These days it's machine-learning technology and behavior-based analytics features that make us more secure."
"The most valuable features are incident creation, policy-based protection, IP whitelisting, and device encryption. These are beneficial for endpoint and server security."
"Being a cloud solution it is very flexible in serving internal and external connections and a broad range of devices."
"If you are looking for security, mainly for advanced threat prevention from ransomware and malware attacks, I would recommend Cortex."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter has helped us to reduce security incidents by 89%, which is a significant amount of incidents we have seen."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter saves around 60% of time or resources."
"It is really straightforward, it is very easy to understand, and therefore, I highly recommend the solution."
"TrendAI Vision One has greatly reduced my time to detect and respond to threats."
"The best features in TrendAI Vision One are the workbench and the XDR feature for the playbooks; we continue to use these two features extensively."
"Trend Vision One's most valuable feature is its centralized console, which provides comprehensive security features, including attack surface risk management."
"I would definitely recommend Trend Vision One to others."
"It is a stable product. It works very well."
"The most valuable feature is how the stack fully integrates all components of a solution."
"Overall, we have managed to reduce our resolution time by approximately 99% due to our multiple teams working 24/7."

Cons

"There is also no recovery feature; if some endpoint is under attack there must be the possibility of recovering it or restoring it to a normal state."
"Additionally, I think the price is very high, and if it can be adjusted, I believe it will be a very good solution."
"I have faced some issues with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks; there is room for improvement in the sense that certain options prevent us from seeing and segregating data."
"The configuration could be simplified. I would like to see better protection, specifically to protect email applications."
"Cortex XDR could improve its sales support team, including better commission structures and referral programs."
"It's very time-consuming to log support issues and the people that answer the tickets aren't very knowledgeable."
"There are some default policies which sometimes affect our applications and cause them to run around. In the hotel industry, we use a different type of data versus Oracle and SQL. By default, there are some policies which stop us from running properly. Because of this, the support level is also not that strong. We have to wait to get a results."
"I would like to see them include NDR (Network Detection Response). Then it would work well with SIEM Response."
"Areas that have room for improvement include user interface and integration."
"TrendAI Vision One can definitely do better in the XDR Data Explorer part, where it could expand its query language to allow for summarizations or some kind of table view, not just simple operators like AND, OR, IS, and IS NOT."
"The TrendAI Vision One support system is not very good. They charge extra for premium support, while basic support does not adequately assist with investigations and troubleshooting."
"The information captured by Trend Vision One needs to be more detailed."
"Technical support is not good. Their technical team should be more competent."
"Troubleshooting the disconnectivity of the agent is a bit of a difficult task because the server might have connectivity with the portal and agent services will be working fine, but still it shows disconnected on the portal."
"They need to modify their licensing mechanism and improve their AI-based detections."
"The only disappointing aspect is that every time new features are adopted, additional credits are required, which could push the budget over. This practice should really be reconsidered by Trend."
"Sometimes it’s difficult to find your way around."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Traps pays for itself within the first 16 months of a three-year subscription. This is attributed to OPEX savings, as security teams spent less time trying to identify and isolate malware for analysis as a result of a reduction in malware incidents, false positives, and breach avoidance."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"It has a yearly renewal."
"The pricing is okay, although direct support can be expensive."
"I am using the Community edition."
"It is cost-effective compared to similar solutions. It fits for the small businesses through to the big businesses."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."

"Trend Micro XDR has a good price, and on a scale of one to five, I would rate it a four out of five in terms of price."
"Trend Micro's cost is higher than other solutions. That is the main reason why we need to switch to another solution."
