Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Unified security monitoring has reduced alert fatigue and improves proactive threat hunting
I use real-time monitoring in ReliaQuest GreyMatter, which significantly improves my security posture. The unified interface helps reduce alert fatigue. I would estimate it saves around 20% in alert fatigue reduction. The automated threat hunting capabilities in ReliaQuest GreyMatter help me stay ahead of threats. The machine learning algorithm benefits my threat intelligence by providing deeper insights and predictions. I use various metrics to rate the success of the predictive threat intelligence in ReliaQuest GreyMatter.

Built faster threat response and improved visibility with real-time monitoring and flexible deployment
TrendAI Vision One allows us to monitor attacks in real time, which is a significant benefit. We can quickly see where the attack is coming from. TrendAI Vision One enables us to use different products with a flexible license. For example, if a customer is using endpoint security and wants to switch to another solution, they can instantly use a different Trend Micro product, such as email. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce the time to detect and respond to different threats, as it can respond to attacks very quickly. With playbook templates, in cases of recurring attacks, responses can be made quickly using predefined playbooks. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce noise from false positives. There have been false positives before, but it was due to the customer not telling us which app they were using. Best practice configurations must be applied properly to avoid such issues. TrendAI Vision One helps customers consolidate the use of security vendors and reduce silos by offering one platform for all product management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Best solution for avoiding security breaches, malware attacks, and other kinds of security issues."
"It has absolutely improved the way our organization functions, we are more secure, it is giving us more peace of mind, and it has found malicious activity happening on our endpoints that probably would not have been detected if we didn't have it."
"The tool's use cases are relevant to security."
"The most valuable aspect of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks for me is its integration with AI detection, where we get to know the behavioral detection based on users, traffic patterns, and different services that we consume."
"The most valuable feature is that you can select remote access of any machine for sandboxing."
"It is easy to use."
"Cortex Xnor's playbooks predefine the workflow of the automation, such as response processes, alert triggering, and enriching the context, collecting relevant indicators such as hashes, IP addresses, or domains efficiently and can detect and block malicious attacks with firewalls."
"The most valuable feature of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is its machine-learning capabilities. Additionally, there is full integration with other solutions."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter has helped us to reduce security incidents by 89%, which is a significant amount of incidents we have seen."
"ReliaQuest GreyMatter saves around 60% of time or resources."
"TrendAI Vision One allows us to monitor attacks in real time, which is a significant benefit, and we can quickly see where the attack is coming from."
"It has good vulnerability protection."
"The automatic EDR system that notifies us when something is wrong is valuable."
"I like the workbench. It is a view of all the alerts or problems in your estate. The visibility that it provides to engineers is very useful. It is one thing having lots of alerts. It is another thing to have something to correlate all your alerts into a workbench for you so that you can see what is going on."
"I would definitely recommend Trend Vision One to others."
"TrendAI Vision One has positively impacted my organization by specifically helping improve security posture and response time for threat handling, as well as improving our cyber risk score."
"Centralized visibility is valuable. We can view what kind of virus or threat exists, where it has traveled, and how it started. A security analyst can use just this one console to view all the information."
"The best features in TrendAI Vision One are the workbench and the XDR feature for the playbooks; we continue to use these two features extensively."

Cons

"Every 30 or 40 days, there's a new version and we need to go and make sure our customer's laptops are upgraded."
"Enhancing UI simplicity and playbook flexibility are areas that could benefit from more low-code automation options for smoother integrations."
"There are some false positives. What our guys would have liked is that it would have been easier to manipulate as soon as they found a false positive that they knew was a false positive. How to do so was not obvious. Some people complained about it. The interface, the ESM, is not user-friendly."
"Previously, the endpoint would leave the environment, not being on our VPN, essentially unable to interact with the server to upload files. It was unable to retrieve new file verdicts. It was using a thing called "local analysis" to determine if something was a malicious file or not. There was no dynamic analysis."
"Although I would say this product is highly-rated, it could probably do more because nothing does everything that you want."
"The installation should be easier and the Palo Alto pre-sales and sales teams should have more information on the product because they don't know what they are selling."
"It automatically detects security issues. It should be able to protect our network devices while operating autonomously."
"It is not a suitable solution if you are looking for a single product with multiple features such as DLP, encryption, rollback, etc."
"Areas that have room for improvement include user interface and integration."
"In comparison to Trellix, one disadvantage of Trend Micro is the DLP feature. Trend Micro has a light DLP, while Trellix offers a perfect DLP."
"The area for improvement is to provide more clarity on the query part, including examples for creating reference sets and documenting capabilities thoroughly so future users can benefit without needing to experiment."
"The features of Trend Vision One are fine—it's the integration that needs work. Especially at the endpoint level, we still feel like we're using an older product that just got plugged into Trend Vision One."
"To improve TrendAI Vision One to a perfect score, I believe better pricing and more support would be ideal."
"In new versions I would like to see better implementation of the reporting features, especially in regards to EDR visibility."
"There isn't a lot I'd do to change it. The web interface could be improved to sort of make it a little easier to manage multiple clients out of one location."
"Currently, there is nothing specific that needs improvement. Their support is very cooperative, and they provide an educational portal for learning the solution. However, deployment could improve by considering customer environments that are not fully updated."
"Reporting could be a little bit better. They are working on it, and it is getting better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an expensive solution."
"When we first bought it, it was a bit expensive, but it was worth it. The licensing was straightforward."
"I don't like that they have different types of licenses."
"I don't recall what the cost was, but it wasn't really that expensive."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"Cortex XDR’s pricing is very reasonable."
"If one wishes to work with another team or large number of users at a future point, he must purchase a license for them."
Information not available
"Trend Micro recently switched from a license-based pricing model to a credit system, which caused some initial frustration during my renewal."
"When we have a good product such as Trend Vision One, the price is fine."
"Trend Vision One is an expensive product."
"Trend Micro XDR is expensive."
"Trend Micro XDR is expensive, and you have to pay for it yearly."
"Trend Micro's cost is higher than other solutions. That is the main reason why we need to switch to another solution."
"From a pricing standpoint, they're a really good negotiator and they'll work with you."
"I feel that Vision One is a bit expensive. As for the pricing or licensing, I would rate it a seven out of ten."
