Continuous assessments have strengthened our cloud security posture and compliance readiness
Prowler would benefit from improvements in dashboards and visualization. Currently, dashboards are only available for the default configuration. If Prowler could provide custom dashboards and querying into our data, it would be more useful for organizations. Additionally, more automated suggestions and reporting customization would be valuable. Currently, Prowler only provides PDF reports for their default posture and does not provide reports for frameworks like SOC 2 Type 2. While the scanning capabilities are strong, the most significant improvements would focus on visualization, automation, and enterprise workflow integration. Deeper integration with ticketing tools and SIEM tools would enhance the platform's value. Stronger enterprise reporting and automated remediation capabilities would add significant value to Prowler.

Unified vulnerability data has reduced risk and currently cuts duplicate tools and license costs
Seemplicity can be improved by adding additional graphs and charts that make it easier to do trending over time. I had to do some of that manually via manual reports, but Seemplicity already has a feature request for this. Seemplicity has done a pretty good job of keeping up with integrations. One gap that I identified and that Seemplicity is trying to fill now is having a complete end-to-end mapping. Seemplicity currently looks at the external attack surface using tools like Censys, and then looks at the internal side, examining what is in AWS and other clouds using CSPM. However, there is not anything that currently ties a property on the outside to a system on the inside, especially when you have additional security layers like web application firewalls that actually mitigate the risk.

Pros

"Prowler has positively impacted our organization by improving our security posture, increasing visibility into our cloud misconfigurations, and helping us strengthen our compliance processes."
"Prowler has positively impacted our organization by improving our security posture, increasing visibility into our cloud misconfigurations, and helping us strengthen our compliance processes."
"Prowler offers real-time scanning, which is crucial when improving our cloud security posture, as updates can be immediately reflected on the scoreboard."
"Prowler has positively impacted my organization by helping us on the security front by improving compliance."
"Using Prowler scans is definitely very helpful."
"Before using Prowler, we were spending hours of our engineers' efforts on compliance and misconfiguration checks, saving that configuration in Excel sheets, and after switching to Prowler, these processes are super smooth and easy, and we are currently saving our engineers' time."
"Prowler has saved us a lot of time, as our engineers previously wasted time manually checking all the configurations of cloud resources maintained in Excel sheets; after switching to Prowler, we save 60 to 70% of our engineers' time, as they no longer need to check each cloud account and resource individually."
"Before we really struggled with meeting SLAs that were in place because we did not have the information we needed and there was too much back and forth, now we nearly have a perfect SLA meeting time."
"Seemplicity is doing amazing work, and organizations were able to better meet their SLAs, better communicate to their leadership and executive level about the overall risk and exposure levels, and overall have a better understanding of what they are dealing with."
"Seemplicity has positively impacted my organization by helping reduce the overhead for our SecOps team to manually create vulnerability tickets."
"The biggest impact Seemplicity has had on my organization is turning what used to be a fragmented, manual process into something structured and accountable."
"We have seen improvements in remediation rates, as initially a lot of our metrics were in the red, but now all are in the green or yellow."
"Seemplicity has helped us see a return on investment by reducing the need for an L1 analyst for AppSec findings through its categorization, deduplication, and automatic remediation assignments, which has significantly decreased the headcount required for initial analysis."
"Seemplicity is helping us generate immense ROI in terms of helping secure our infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and understanding vulnerabilities that we really did not have a good process of understanding before."
"I was also able to pay for the tool twice over by using it for tool rationalization."

Cons

"I give Prowler a score of seven or eight due to its inclusion of multiple security policies and the lack of a feature for adding false positives."
"One limitation is that after scanning the cloud account, Prowler provides reports of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO certified, but we only receive an Excel sheet; I think a PDF report along with remediation steps is needed to help us improve our cloud accounts better."
"Some of the findings in Prowler are not that critical but come in the critical category, so that could be improved."
"I do have one pain point using Prowler. Every time I use Prowler to output results, they have three formats available: CSV, HTML, and JSON."
"Prowler would benefit from improvements in dashboards and visualization."
"For the reports, Prowler does not provide PDF reports for all compliances; it only gives reports for the Prowler configuration."
"Prowler would benefit from improvements in dashboards and visualization."
"Seemplicity could use more improvement around the user interface."
"For Seemplicity, I would say two things for improvement. First, reporting customization could go further because this industry is evolving; the CEO tries to get much information that they are looking for."
"The capability out of the box today is decent, but over time, if we can allow users and organizations to build their own view and how they want to report on things, that would be a great value add."
"Seemplicity can be improved by adding additional graphs and charts that make it easier to do trending over time."
"Every tool, including Seemplicity, can improve, and I think it needs to further enhance its deduplication capabilities and understand how to integrate with more security tools, especially as new AI security tools emerge."
"As the account is growing, some of the dashboards are slowing down, so optimizing that could be one area for improvement."
"Seemplicity could be improved with some of the aggregation accessibility. Currently, it is a bit of a black box and can be a bit of a bottleneck."
