Real-time integration and seamless data synchronization enhance user experience
The stability of Oracle GoldenGate Cloud Service is one of its most useful features, although its performance is not too steady. It excels with bidirectional data synchronization. It supports diverse databases and platforms. We link the ODS with numerous source systems, including Oracle, Tarek Data, and Microsoft, with no integration issues. The solution caters to enterprise needs, fitting any organizational requirement, apart from data security issues common to cloud solutions. The cloud data security challenge is notable, necessitating solutions such as private cloud offerings to allay security concerns.

Quick to set up, flexible, and stable
The scheduling part I don't like due to the fact that it allows you to schedule as a parent and child and other things, however, the error trackability has to be a little more user-friendly. It's also not user-friendly in the sense that it loads all the jobs and there are not enough filters so that it doesn't need to load everything. If the job fails, you don't get any type of alert or email. It would be ideal if there was some sort of automated alert message. Technical support isn't the best. It would be ideal if we understood how to do it in a card exception regarding exclusion, where the card is captured separately rather than filling the whole process on the data inbound side. Certain workloads like this are organized in such a way where you seem to be doubling the work as opposed to streamlining the process.

Pros

"GoldenGate is a good solution to implement in terms of scalability and flexibility."
"GoldenGate's best features are the desktop security features."
"We are heavily involved with GitHub for managing repositories, automatic deployments, and inner source projects."
"This has significantly eased the process of migration from on-premise to cloud, as instead of configuring everything from the ground up, the Oracle GoldenGate Cloud Service has made it seamless to build and render databases in cloud."

"It provides a good response for external microservices applications."
"GoldenGate can aggregate various data types from different sources."
"WhereScape RED has improved our business's ability to generate needed reporting without requiring a large team of developers to manually code all of the necessary plumbing."
"It has allowed us to produce consistently created, well-documented, easy to maintain DW solutions for our clients."
"WhereScape's deployment package is a fantastic feature. The application allows for selecting specific objects that you would like to deploy from one environment to another rather than deploying the entire database."
"I would not hesitate to say that if someone has really limited time for a project it can make a difference and you can have the data ready for use in a very short period of time."
"Embedding of standards and design patterns into the tool yields substantial quality and consistency gains."
"Two months into the project we are currently 50% under budget due to how quickly it's possible to develop large-scale solutions in WhereScape."
"Documentation has excellent potential as it provides the capability to generate data lineage and a complete set of rich documentation and output in multiple formats."
"WhereScape is really helpful in terms of architecture data. Everything is one of automation. Two people can do thousands of tables in one day or two. It saves a lot of time."

Cons

"The initial setup was a little complex, and we required support from Oracle to complete it."
"Over the past four to five years, I have experienced many problems when opening support requests."
"Pricing is rather expensive. Oracle typically prices on the higher side, and there is scope for them to reconsider the price, especially since it is a cloud service."
"Support could be improved. They lack knowledge."
"More technical documentation is needed, especially in terms of mapping and conversion of data, while integration would also be very helpful."
"Oracle is always adding new features. I can't think of anything that's urgent currently."
"The initial setup was a little complex, and we required support from Oracle to complete it."
"I am not very happy with Oracle Support. Over the past four to five years, I have experienced many problems when opening support requests."
"The ability to execute SSIS projects within WhereScape would be nice because we have a lot of packages that are too cumbersome to recreate."
"Data discovery would be more powerful with machine learning features."
"Improve the object renaming ability (it works, but it could be more automated)."
"They need a more robust support center. It has been a bit difficult to find solutions to problems that are out-of-the-box."
"Jobs cannot be deleted via the deployment package. When deploying from dev to QA or production, a job has to be retired. The job has to be manually removed from the target environment."
"Project-based searching of data objects in the data warehouse browser needs to be improved."
"There are some newer features that haven't been included in the training materials yet so they're a little outdated (although the help documentation is very good)."
"It could use a tool to diagnose what is missing from the environment for WhereScape to install successfully."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the product price a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"ROI is at least 10 times."
"Speed to market of a warehouse solution at a relatively inexpensive price point."
"Factor in the price of specialized consulting who know this product. They're hard to find and expensive."
"Our company purchased a corporate unlimited license."
