Enhanced performance and simplified operations with integrated features
All improvements for ODA are already applied or enhanced in Exadata. ODA is mainly for small businesses or limited businesses and is used predominantly for database warehouses and not for OLTP databases. You can only scale storage, not developer nodes. It's priced a little higher, which could be optimized for small or medium businesses.

Standout features are real-time dashboards and powerful aggregation
This product has a powerful aggregating feature which is great. It also has its own APIs. Whenever the data comes in, it can be streamed out anywhere. It's the only solution that provides real-time dashboards. Tableau doesn't have this feature. The three variants of historical data, real-time data and predicted data from Spitfire, give more strength to LiveDatamart without any dependency on other products. The product is easy to set up with very low maintenance required.

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the performance."
"The tool is a specific and effective system. I am impressed with its usability."
"The performance of the system is the solution's most valuable aspect. In combination with the database, it gives perfect results. It's a better system than using other kinds of integrated systems. In general, the ODA control is much simpler to use and offers up the best performance."
"We primarily use it for OLTP, which has improved our costs."
"Oracle is a stable database."
"Oracle Database Appliance is a stable solution. We have clients that have been running it for 10 years."
"Oracle Database Appliances are specifically designed for Oracle databases. They have built-in utilities and tools that simplify management, making them the best option for Oracle database management systems."

Cons

"They could incorporate a more secure and internet-centric management system for the platform."
"Sometimes, we cannot upgrade or patch it easily. The performance needs to improve."
"Oracle Database Appliance patching comes out two to three months after the regular patching cycle."
"Since we don't have the room to scale up, I rate this solution a six out of ten for scalability."
"You can only scale storage, not developer nodes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle Database Appliance is a very expensive solution. If you have opted for the on-premises licenses from Oracle, then you have to pay yearly. If you have opted for the cloud subscriptions offered by Oracle, then you can pay either monthly or yearly."
"In regards to licensing, it is cheaper to maintain for Oracle applications, and it's an all-in-one solution."
"Oracle Database Application's support and maintenance are included in the contract."
"I would rate the pricing a four on a scale of one (high price) to ten (low cost)."
"The solution may be expensive, but when we consider the problems it solves, the stability it provides, and the fact that we don't have to buy separate parts and assemble them into a system, it becomes more affordable."
"Get benefit from the capacity-on-demand features. License your cores according to your licenses."
"I don’t know ODA and alternative system prices. But Oracle the database license is quite expensive and a lot of my customers plan to migrate to open source databases like PostgreSQL."
"The price of the solution should be less expensive. However, they will increase the price more."
"The solution might be considered a bit expensive because it competes with open-source products."
