Room For Improvement

Enhancing usability, integration, automation, compatibility, pricing, Windows performance, and monitoring could significantly improve Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
SnapLogic needs to enhance integrations, API management, debugging, customization, real-time processing, and AI features for improved usability.
Integrating AI with ODI that provides recommendations on how to fix those data quality issues after analyzing and profiling business data would be excellent.
If I use a source system like Oracle and a target system like Teradata, ODI will still run, but it struggles a bit with different infrastructures.
If the AI capabilities and integrations were more intuitive and easy to learn for new users, it would be greatly beneficial.
They can improve more visuals, with graphical representations, such as how many things can be added, how many users can be added or dropped, and how the back-end nodes can be graphically shown in a better way.
I tend to frequently communicate with SnapLogic to ask for additional features, and they have been responsive.

Setup Cost

Oracle Data Integrator is costlier but offers value for mid-sized enterprises, with complex licensing and potential discounts available.
SnapLogic offers competitive pricing based on nodes and usage, valued for functionality in complex integrations without coding.
The pricing aspect of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) is reasonable; it brings significant value to the table.
ODI is cheaper compared to Informatica PowerCenter and IBM DataStage.
There would be only one point of improvement if the price could be lower.
SnapLogic is positioned at around seven or eight out of ten in terms of pricing.

Valuable Features

Oracle Data Integrator offers flexible, cost-effective data integration with strong automation, real-time management, and support for diverse systems.
SnapLogic offers a low-code interface, extensive connectivity, and efficient automation, simplifying complex integrations with robust tools and fast deployment.
The main benefits that Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) brings to the table include data quality, data completeness functionality, metadata management, and the reverse engineering feature, which allows integrating the metadata of diversified data sources with a single click.
Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) is powerful and strong if my system uses Oracle components for environments like OLTP, enterprise data warehouse, or data marts.
I also like the whole child-parent pipeline feature; it allows me to break up a process into smaller pieces and then have one big pipeline that controls these smaller pipelines.
I find SnapLogic to be user-friendly, especially for beginners with limited experience in data engineering or ETL.
It's moving into AI, so we can create AI agents with LLM models. We can use most of the LLM such as Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Azure AI.

Hafiz Mannan - PeerSpot reviewer
Facilitates complex data integration with ease and flexibility
It would be great if ODI could link the designer, mapping, and workflows in a more simplified manner, maybe in one combined interface. It would be excellent not to have to go into different areas to perform different activities but rather have a user-defined interface where we can configure a job, run it, monitor it, link packages, and link subprocesses all in one frame instead of having the designer separately, mapping separately, and monitoring and session management separately. With respect to data quality challenges, it would be great to give an option to fix data quality issues based on AI. Integrating AI with ODI that provides recommendations on how to fix those data quality issues after analyzing and profiling business data would be excellent. One of the main disadvantages of the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) is that it sometimes takes a lot of resources when handling multiple jobs. The scalability and the ability to handle multiple workloads of several parallel ETL jobs could use improvement, and certain parallel threads should be added along with the ability to configure multiple jobs from the same data directory structure.

Achieves rapid results in data migration and has an intuitive user interface
I find SnapLogic to be user-friendly, especially for beginners with limited experience in data engineering or ETL. The interface is interactive, allowing me to quickly learn how to run pipelines and achieve production-ready results swiftly. This agility translates to cost savings, especially for smaller projects and proofs of concept, as less time and effort are needed to deliver results.
