Cost-effectiveness and pricing consistency support diverse high-intensity applications
The services of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) are quite competent when compared to AWS ( /products/amazon-aws-reviews ) Cloud, and they are also lower in cost. We use compute, storage, and network services. A notable feature is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's consistent global pricing, which is advantageous. Furthermore, applications using Oracle Database ( /products/oracle-database-reviews ) not only work seamlessly on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) but also benefit from a 25% offset on Oracle Database licenses.

Scalable and flexible platform with significant challenges related to complexity, cost management, and the need for skilled personnel
There are a couple of significant challenges we're currently facing. First, our production team can't make use of the production planning features, as they require a Professional license and we only have access to the Logistics license, which is limiting our capabilities. The majority of the reports we generate are intended for managerial purposes. While most reports are straightforward to comprehend, there are a few exceptions that can be quite complex. It would be beneficial to have access to real-time data from our machines. This is crucial for monitoring all activities within our manufacturing processes, from software operations to the machinery used.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Oracle is valuable for improving performance and addressing issues between the nodes of clusters for private IPs. It provides a private connection between the client and the security cluster."
"I like having the ability to easily run Oracle Linux server instances and to deploy Oracle Middleware and WebLogic servers. Oracle's Infrastructure as a Service products are also very useful, and we're using those right now within Oracle OCI."
"Technical support is good. We are partners with Oracle so we are always speaking with them."
"The product's configuration is simple."
"Oracle Cloud Platform is a good solution because with large data platforms the data migration can be a challenge and this is the reason to move and migrate towards the cloud from on-premises."
"Oracle Cloud Platform has good scalability."
"I head the sales and marketing team. So, specifically on the feature set side, multi-tenancy is the one that I'm most familiar with. It's also the one that we found to be the most beneficial to us because it allows us to take clients that have multiple sites. For instance, one of our larger clients, which is a bank based out of South Africa, has offices in multiple countries. It allows us to multi-tenant each and create a tenant for each country within multi-tenanted architecture."
"The most important features are the turnkey solutions offered by Oracle. These ease the administration of Oracle Databases."
"The product is very user-friendly."
"The top-level view and easy navigation to individual transaction levels are beautifully done in SAP Business One."
"The most valuable aspect is that it is easy to use the software."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to access it from anywhere."
"It is very flexible...It is a stable solution."
"The maintenance is a significant advantage as it is supported by the international community rather than the local community."
"The way we can make changes in new fields, or make new rules with our IT department, has been very useful."
"The initial setup of the product seems to be good."

Cons

"It would be beneficial to have access to real-time data from our machines."
"The technical support from SAP is very restricted to its knowledge base. It does not add much beyond what is already available in the knowledge base."

"The interface needs to be improved. It needs to be more user-friendly."
"There is room for improvement in the manufacturing and logistics areas of SAP Business One on AWS."

"It is cheaper as a solution model. It isn’t cheaper than SAP but offers more features and competition."
"There is an annual and a subscription option."
"Make sure you read the fine print."

"Licenses are available on a monthly or yearly basis, and it costs about $1,200 per license, per user."
