Effortless install, features rich, and scalable
The solution has helped with PCI compliance, masking, and encrypting PII information within our environment. What we found is that when we secured the information through encryption, we then were not scared of who was actually viewing the data. We wanted to know If we could still function as per normal, with this encrypted or masked data. The reason for this was we now know that it is real data that are encrypted, and because of the format, preserving encryption was easier to get it done. We did not have many different types of extra security features. Additionally, what we found was that from securing the perimeter of our environment with Micro Focus' voltage secure data, it does field-level encryption, which secured it one step even further. If we were breached from the perimeter, the data was actually still encrypted, which gave us an extra layer of security.

Good support, stable, and offers encryption at both the column and table level
The most valuable feature is the data encryption option for columns and tables. We are also getting the benefit of detection data. If I want to share data with another Oracle user then the data sharing is automatically detected. We don't need to modify anything. This is a complete security solution and all of the features that we are using are available off the shelf.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The number one feature I found was that the install was really easy, it was quite helpful."
"The most valuable feature of Micro Focus Voltage SecureData Enterprise is the ease of configuration and the group services rest API."
"The features that are the most used by the customers and partners are, at the moment, for GDPR, so obviously data encryption and data reduction. Our customers also like the partitioning option."
"The most valuable feature is the data encryption option for columns and tables."

Cons

"Micro Focus Voltage SecureData Enterprise can improve the types of encryptions. They are limited by the number of types of encryption and types of masking they are allowing. In the solution that we were using, the illustration interface and the number of capabilities in terms of data masking were limited."
"For a future release, the interface looks a bit dated and could be improved."
"Having a single command to encrypt a table would be an improvement."
"It is really constrained as an environment because you cannot change something that would be useful. It is a very good product because it is very similar to what you have on-premises. Yes, it is constrained, but it is expected because it is a platform as a service so it has to be constrained."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I found some of their licensing is a bit complex. I am also finding that some of their cloud solutions are quite expensive."
