Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The tool's most valuable feature is ease of use.""It is a very secure and scalable solution, and their support is also outstanding.""It offers synchronous data replication, allowing us to sync our recovery data every hour and efficiently send applications to remote sites.""Hyper-convergence gives me the ability to patch my firmware, software, and hypervisors with a single click. That is extremely useful.""We haven't needed anyone to maintain or deploy the solution. The traditional Nutanix administrator can administer the solution.""The solution is stable."

"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward and simple.""Database replication is most valuable. It is multi-platform, so it can replicate from a variety of different database types to a variety of different database types."

Cons
"They need better reporting on the environment.""The solution needs improvement in cost.""The product is more costly than other platforms. The price could be better.""The pricing could be better.""For moving the data for DR, we are using Megaport. We are using a Megaport link between the data centers, so we have a third party for the site-to-site connectivity between the data centers. If such connectivity is available from the Nutanix side, it would be helpful for us.""I think that Nutanix should support public clouds instead of the Nutanix data centers."

More Nutanix Disaster Recovery as a Service Cons →

"It does data manipulation language (DML) replication, but it does not do data definition language (DDL) replication. In my opinion, it is a disadvantage. It would be nicer if it was able to do both DML and DDL. I'm not 100% certain of this, but it seems Oracle Golden Gate does both DML and DDL. MIMIX only does DML, and it would be very nice if they included DDL replication. This is one feature that would be very helpful to have.""The high cost of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Besides the license, there are additional costs with the network connection. The customer may want a direct connection between the two data centers and that has an extra cost."
  • "I always want it to be cheaper."
  • "One-time costs may initially seem high, but they reflect the quality of the service received."
  • "It is a little bit cheaper than the other products in the market. It is affordable."

  • "The licensing provides the access to support. I do know that there's an annual charge for being able to call into their support line and get a technical team from Precisely to assist with any issues we may have. I don't think there are any additional costs other than what we incur internally in terms of the infrastructure that we need to run and operate the product."
  • "The cost of the product is too high."
