Anomaly detection maintains the system's health and good for monitoring
The primary use case is for services and incident management.   The anomaly detection feature helps with maintaining the system's health. It is regarding our IT incident center.  ManageEngine is for incident management and monitoring.  The inventory of assets needs improvement. The asset…

Application performance management and error resolution improved with data-driven insights
Dynatrace has multiple functions compared to Splunk AppDynamics, so Splunk AppDynamics should add those functions, which are not available as of now. Dynatrace has a universal agent that collects all information related to their CI, and if one CI has multiple languages, then there is no need to instrument multiple agents. However, Splunk AppDynamics requires multiple agents; if I have one server with multiple applications in different languages, then I need to instrument different agents for each application. Splunk AppDynamics should work with Dynatrace with one single universal agent that works with all application languages, eliminating the need for multiple implementations.

Pros

"ManageEngine Applications Manager's installation is pretty easy."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to be able to monitor Kubernetes."
"The Service Level Management (SLM) rules engine stands out due to its flexibility and customization capabilities, making it an invaluable tool for tailoring processes to our specific needs."
"ManageEngine Applications Manager maintains the historical data and it's easy for us to analyze the trends and patterns and fix them accordingly."
"I am impressed with the tool's reporting feature which is simple."
"ITSM is a valuable feature, it complies with the requirements in Pakistan."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is its ease of use."
"The feature that I have found most valuable in ManageEngine Applications Manager is its dashboard."
"The alert mechanism in AppDynamics enhances server management tasks by using agents installed on each server."
"The flow map is very valuable to us. Before we installed APM, we had no idea how our application looked."
"The solution helps us save a lot of time on certain tasks."
"The product's initial setup phase is easy since a separate machine is required, and it is not directly installed on a database as it is a type of proxy."
"Autodiscovery of application topology, based on real user traffic."
"Database scaling or migration projects play a supportive role throughout the development, monitoring, and troubleshooting phases."
"Whenever the application crashes from user behavior, we can easily simulate the error. We are happy with this feature and find it to be valuable."
"The dashboards are very well-defined."

Cons

"Even with the top-notch dashboard, it could be made stronger in order to have an additional plug-in for analytics."
"An area for improvement in ManageEngine Applications Manager is artificial intelligence. If AI is integrated into the solution, it'll be a piece of cake. Currently, it's all configured manually."
"They could probably rearrange the UI so that it would be easy for people who are new to the Application Manager to configure things."
"The dashboards in the interface need a lot of work."
"The agent often crashes when there is too much load on the application side. If a sudden storm of data comes in, the agent crashes down most of the time."
"The problem is that implementation requires a significant amount of mapping effort."
"They can improve the post-processing of the data. AppDynamics has more powerful tools for post-processing or analytics. It has some limitations in more complex environments, but because we are free to use different solutions, we try to find what is best for the customers or the problem we are trying to solve."
"The integration process with third party tools poses some challenges; enhancing the robustness of these integrations could greatly improve overall functionality and user experience."
"The AppDynamics installation process needs to be more straightforward. Deploying the product is also tricky."
"Installation and configuration can be very tough. An average user without specialized knowledge can't do this. You need to have DevOps and QA teams handle it. During installation, a lot of customers get stuck trying to track the database or the API part, and they have to contact customer support."
"The agent deployment could be simplified by, for example, adding a GUI."
"There may be some older technologies that are still covered, however, it's not as plug-and-play. You can still do it, however, it takes slightly more effort for engineers to cover old technologies such as C++, Delphi, and so on. It still can be done. It's just not as easy as, for example, covering Java."
"It is stable, but the only downside is the licensing part."
"The pricing falls within the mid-range category."
"The product's drawback is the licensing pricing. It could be better."
"I don't really use AI-powered anomaly detection and root cause analysis for diagnosing performance issues because it makes many mistakes in my case, due to the nature of my work."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost of this solution is not too bad, although it could be cheaper considering what you're getting for the price."
"The licensing costs for ManageEngine Applications Manager are around $1,200 per year. For additional monitors, you have to pay extra."
"The solution's licensing costs are yearly."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"The solution is noted for its cost-effectiveness, a crucial consideration for potential users."
"The annual licensing depends on the number of monitors you have connected. Once you get to two hundred monitors you can see the price reflect."
"Its price is good."
"Price-wise, it is a cheap tool...The solution's licensing model is subscription-based, in which yearly payments are to be made."
"If one is expensive and ten is low price, I rate the product price as seven out of ten."
"The price of AppDynamics could be reduced in my region."
"I rate AppDynamics Mobile Real-User Monitoring's pricing as seven out of ten. Mobile monitoring is paid based on the number of instances utilizing the mobile monitoring service, which increases as the scale grows. Consequently, your mobile user count can proportionally surpass all other applications."
"Purchasing the product through the AWS Marketplace was good."
"The solution is highly expensive"
"The pricing is very competitive."
"It is a more expensive APM among the competitors, which is fine because it also does a lot more on the auto-detection and the AI side... It is not a cheap product. None of them are. The price is fair, but I could use it on more projects if they had a lower price."
"There is an annual cost for the use of this solution."
