The database setup is a pain initially, but once it's done everything works fine.

Interactive dashboards have transformed reporting and now speed up team decision making
One area where Plotly Dash Enterprise can be improved is the learning curve for beginners. It can take time to understand the callbacks and app structures. Debugging can sometimes be tricky, especially for complex apps. Improving documentation and providing more built-in templates or examples would make it easier for new users to get started. Another improvement could be around performance optimization in Plotly. For example, with a large dataset, a dashboard can sometimes become slow. Better built-in support for handling big data efficiently would help. Additionally, smoother integration with other data tools and cloud services would make it easier to fit into different tech stacks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This product offers a wide range of corporate performance management tools for powerful financial consolidation, planning and reporting."
"This tool is mainly used for forecasting, and it will, for sure, help all the organizations that need data/reports on expenses and headcount forecasting."
"Well certainly this product has helped many finance users in the organization as this product enables them to see the numbers for any cost center and business unit and also get a consolidated view of group level numbers."
"Khalix is a simple tool that builds on existing data sources to develop solutions in forecasting, planning and consolidation needs."
"The best features Plotly Dash Enterprise offers is the clarity."
"Development and deployment time typically shows a 50 to 80% faster time to production, and there is also a 60 to 90% reduction in repetitive reporting work because organizations have self-serve dashboards and scheduled reports where one internal app often replaces hours of weekly manual work."
"Plotly Dash Enterprise has made the creation of financial models and dashboards very handy and very easy for my organization, as I used to work on Power BI and Tableau, which used to take some time."
"Instead of creating multiple dashboards, we can create a single dashboard with all kinds of charts, so I would say it improves the productivity and conceptual understanding of the dataset."
"Time saved is what we have seen as a return on investment with Plotly Dash Enterprise, as the mean time to resolve and the mean time to respond both went down, saving approximately 10 to 12 minutes per major incident."
"In my day-to-day work at a market research company, our team uses it to turn raw survey or business data into live visual dashboards that help our clients and teams monitor insights in real time, which leads to better decision-making."
"Plotly Dash Enterprise has positively impacted my organization by giving us valuable inputs through the interactive visuals, which we can use to make concrete decisions that help us improve our top line or bottom line."
"Since using Plotly Dash Enterprise, it has improved my decision-making and helped me understand which regions of Brazil my customers are purchasing my books from."

Cons

"The initial set up was complex and painful, both with respect to database setup and the execution script."
"The original cost is set to use enterprise wide but the users growth is too slow to justify the cost. That's one of the reasons we stopped using this tool."
"Web based reporting can have better user interface and functions."
"If you compare it with Oracle then Longview isn't that user friendly."
"For some of my colleagues, especially those coming from market research operations, the transition to Plotly Dash Enterprise needed more structured training because they heavily depended on Excel manual reporting and static PowerPoints before using Plotly Dash Enterprise."
"I would say scalability of Plotly Dash Enterprise is low when I used it; it was not easy to adapt to different data volumes or needs."
"Lastly, production pricing flexibility is essential, as current pricing models seem more geared towards large organizations, which may limit accessibility for smaller teams and startups."
"We need to use fewer processes because we have a great opportunity to improve the dynamic graphics as they use a lot of processors and computer clusters, which over the years become very expensive for the business."
"I believe that the prices of the tool's paid services could be on the premium side, so the pricing model can be considered for improvement."
"As a student, I haven't seen a return on investment or any metrics or examples such as saving time or resources."
"While Plotly Dash Enterprise is powerful, its default look can sometimes feel more academic or technical than the sleek, modern UI of dedicated BI tools."
"I faced some challenges as Plotly plots were slow."
