Offers good scalability and has the ability to integrate with various systems and services
One area where k6 could improve is by introducing a GUI similar to JMeter. While k6 is a powerful tool for performance testing, it leans heavily towards coding. Having a GUI, even if it is a low-code approach, could make it more accessible to a broader audience. It would be beneficial to strike a balance where basic tasks can be performed graphically through a user-friendly interface, while still allowing the flexibility for more complex operations through code, similar to how JMeter operates. This could enhance the user experience and make k6 more approachable for those who may not be as comfortable with scripting.

Testing solution supports Java testing with good reliability
There is nothing you can do for almost every application. If you do it for a single version, it is rather easy. However, if you want to run it for different versions of the software, then you need the Qt version of Java. You need to set up some special environment variables to be able to do that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The standout feature of k6 is its strong focus on API performance testing."
"The tool's big advantage is that it is more performance-test oriented for experienced testers who know what they are doing. In a normal working setup, performance engineers frequently work with DevOps and development teams. For these teams, k6 Open Source's syntax is much simpler and easier to understand and apply in the working process."
"Our previous, haphazard approach to testing was not effective, and using Squish has led us into an organized mode of testing."
"Now we have completely automated the Squish runs using CI tools and Squish is not at all getting stuck or creating any problem."
"This product can work with QT applications and cross-cut from them, both on Windows OS and on Mac, as well as on mobile operating systems like iOS and Android too."
"Squish data-driven testing is very powerful and we can easily check for bulk and huge data without any issues."
"The most important part is that it allows me to create black box tests faster and easier."
"The initial setup process is straightforward."
"I like the dashboard. It's virtual, and you can see the customer results. I can do it at night and in the morning. I think it also automatically emails results."
"It supports many platforms, which helps in getting automation solutions for most of the complex UI products."

Cons

"One area where k6 could improve is by introducing a GUI similar to JMeter."
"We encountered issues with the embedded environment and building for the Qt version."
"You need to set up some special environment variables."
"The platform could be improved by implementing some basic functionalities that are frequently used, such as login procedures and screen handling when multiple screens are used at the workplace."
"Robotics automation could be added with Squish."
"The price could be better."
"There had been a lot of improvements with froglogic Squish already. There were some scenarios in which this particular solution was available in different flavors. They have pulled everything together in one solution. There were some monitoring systems, which were missing out from the solution earlier. They have a centralized dashboard for monitoring the test cases and their execution. It's a full-blown solution, there are not many glitches in terms of something missing out of the package."
"We have faced some difficulties in identifying canvas objects initially."
"Anyhow, we can't automate the applications which are completely built on C/C++ without using Qt."
