The solution streamlines design, development, and deployment with effective ETL features
The support has been really good. Typically, if we have any issues, we raise a ticket with IBM, and they help us resolve the issues if required. We also have the flexibility to submit a feature request to be included as part of the wishlist, potentially becoming a product feature in subsequent releases.

Foolproof stability and robust system
SAP Replication Server is an application that I consider to be a robust system. It has proven to be highly reliable in my experience. One of its notable features is real-time replication, which ensures that data changes are replicated immediately. This is particularly advantageous when we need to execute full processes promptly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It generates highly efficient backend code to write data onto IBM systems, which I find valuable."
"We like the flexibility of modeling."
"The solution's scalability is really good...we are using multi-instance jobs where you can scale them easily."
"Once you have Infosphere up and running properly, it is stable."
"I am impressed with the tool's ETL tracing."
"The support has been really good."
"The solution is stable."
"Offers great flexibility."
"It speeds up the performance in terms of how fast you are able to access the data, look at it, get it reported to you, and send it to somebody. It also reduces the amount of storage."
"It's pretty good at handling replication, even under high load. It also provides cross-database replication, for example, from Sybase to Oracle."
"We can customize any workflow and we also like the business domain modeling that can be done."
"SAP is renovating different things. We are using external tools to connect as of now. It is going well, and now the new generation integration platforms are going to be pretty easy."
"SAP Replication Server is an application that I consider to be a robust system. It has proven to be highly reliable in my experience."

Cons

"Reduced cost would allow more customers to choose the product. It's quite expensive in relation to the cost of other similar solutions."
"The initial setup could be more straightforward."
"Their web interface is good but the on-prem sites are outdated. The solution could also be improved if they could integrate the data pipeline scheduling part of their interface."
"So, there are some features that are missing. If I compare DataStage to Talend, Talend allows you to write custom code in Java or use these tools in your applications as well if you are building a job application. But in DataStage, it does not allow you to write custom code for any component."
"DataStage is quite expensive. It is too hard to find a consultant using DataStage in Turkey."
"The solution needs improvement in connectivity with big data technologies such as Spark."
"I wonder if it supports other areas, such as cloud environments with open source support, or EdgeShift."
"The interface needs improvement."
"Improvement is a never ending story, and HANA is doing some improvements. We are able to adopt that, and we have to do it by integration with HANA. They are very major changes that we need to see."
"If someone wants to replicate their data from Sybase to a newer technology for data warehousing or other purposes, it would be better if they supported those."
"I would like to see it become mobile-friendly."
"The private solution is expensive. If you're in a situation where you're paying IBM or AWS or somebody just to host you specifically, you're paying people to run it and you're taking care of all the upgrades."
"There is room for improvement in terms of pricing and faster support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing varies based on use, and it is not as costly as some competing enterprise solutions."
"It's very expensive."
"The price is expensive but there are no licensing fees."
"The cost is too high."
"I have no information on the exact pricing for IBM InfoSphere DataStage because the solution is usually procured by the clients my company works with, though the pricing is higher compared to other solutions, so many clients choose to go with a different solution rather than IBM InfoSphere DataStage."
"The product is expensive."
"High-cost of ownership: They could take a page from open source software."
"Small and medium-sized companies cannot afford to pay for this solution."
"You can pick one of the hosted cloud services as opposed to owning it and doing it yourself. Your cost of ownership on the hardware, the data storage, and the maintenance all go down. It depends on what service you use."
"It's a very expensive solution."
