Centralized security has protected hybrid workloads and provides deep visibility into cloud traffic
Cloud-native automation and IaC: Terraform support, auto-scaling templates, and API maturity lag behind Palo Alto VM-Series and FortiGate-VM. Dynamically scaling in public cloud requires more manual effort. Third-party integrations and ecosystem: fewer native connectors with SIEM/SOAR platforms, CSPM, and third-party tools compared to market leaders. Documentation and training material: technical documentation and community resources (forums, tutorials, KB) are more limited, which lengthens the learning curve for new teams. SASE/SSE capabilities: the integrated SASE/ZTNA offering is less mature compared to the convergence already provided by Fortinet or Palo Alto. Centralized multi-instance management: managing large fleets of virtual appliances could be smoother; centralized management (HSM) works, but some users would like more granularity and automation.

There is always room for improvement, and at the moment, I am on the good side. I do not really have a bad side of it or anything that I would like to see changed; I love what I see and I love what I use. One feature that comes to my mind as missing in Ignition Cloud Edition is the user graphics in the user interface. The graphics in the user interface, such as the slider or the shapes for the equipment, can be improved upon. When I am selecting a tank, I should see a real tank, or when I am selecting a breaker, it should look like a real breaker in the field, or a valve or a sensor or a slider. Every other feature, such as the graphs and charts, are cool.

Pros

"The most valuable aspect is the combination of traditional firewall functionality with cloud deployment flexibility."
"Hillstone CloudEdge Virtual Firewall provides advanced security for cloud and virtualized environments through next-generation firewall (NGFW) capabilities, including application visibility and control, intrusion prevention (IPS), antivirus protection, VPN services, threat intelligence, and advanced attack defense mechanisms."
"On balance, Hillstone CloudEdge is a solid and highly competitive solution within the virtual NGFW firewall segment."
"CloudEdge has helped us apply consistent security controls to our AWS workloads with our on-premises workloads."
"Ignition Cloud Edition has positively impacted my organization by allowing us to get more projects and also increasing our revenue."
"Ignition Cloud Edition has had a very positive impact on our organization, especially in the way we access and use industrial data."
"Ignition gives you the blank paper to dream it, reach it, and draw whatever you need."
"Both the database and Ignition can be set up very easily without any hardware, and reliability and high availability are always there, built in."
"What I love about Ignition Cloud Edition is the advantages and functionalities it has over other SCADA software."
"The best features Ignition Cloud Edition offers are the ability to set alerts on a system and access that remotely."
"My main use case for Ignition Cloud Edition, even if it's just in my learning phase, was that it is a very interesting cloud platform, it was very much feasible, it can interface to multiple types of controllers and also with RTUs, and I see that its application can be used in other applications which is much more comfortable than other available platforms."
"Ignition Cloud Edition has had a very positive impact on my organization."

Cons

"The setup cost is more expensive with similar features."
"Cloud-native automation and IaC: Terraform support, auto-scaling templates, and API maturity lag behind Palo Alto VM-Series and FortiGate-VM."
"Additional automation resources for AWS would also be helpful."
"Ignition Cloud Edition can be improved in the sense that it doesn't come with some drivers in the Cloud version. For example, local device drivers are not included, and you always need a local Ignition Edge there."
"I think Ignition Cloud Edition could be more intuitive on how to use it."
"My concern is about cybersecurity. Since it's a cloud platform, the chances of countering cybersecurity attacks will be a major concern."
"The accuracy of Ignition Cloud Edition is not very great, and reliability also needs improvement."
"Ignition Cloud Edition reflects that it is still missing some driver options and we require a more cost-effective solution, which is why I rate it an eight on a scale of one to ten."
"The way the historian is set up is not conducive to large deployments and it makes querying the data challenging."
"For someone considering Ignition Cloud Edition, I think it is not bad, but honestly, I see it as overpriced."
"The pricing aspect of Ignition Cloud Edition is actually on the high side."
