Continuous data protection guarantees data safety during outages and disasters
Based on my experience, I do recommend Dell RecoverPoint to other businesses. The environment requiring Dell RecoverPoint, such as banks or telcos where data equals money, cannot afford to lose data. The overall solution rating is eight, considering the competition from one or two more OEMs giving a tough time to Dell RecoverPoint.

Easy to use and deploy, user-friendly, and minimally intrusive
We are in the Philippines, and the support that we are getting is from France or Italy. We are in a different time zone, and sometimes, it can take five hours or more than five hours to get a response from them, but overall, their support is good. Most of our problems were solved.

"When it works, it is the best product that is available."
"The product does block-level replication very well."
"It is amazing because it is very easy to test with many alternative bookmarks."
"Customer Service: Very good, EMC did support us to implement it well and gave useful instructions and lessons to help to maintain it well."
"It can replicate data from a distant location and it can scan it as well. It has continuous data replication with almost no data loss."
"Syniti Data Replication is very easy to use, it is user-friendly and easy to set up, you can provide or create connections with just a simple click, and it is minimally intrusive."

Cons

"The cost of the solution is pretty high. The licensing costs may affect a company's ability to scale."
"Dell RecoverPoint can be improved by virtualizing it, which would use less storage and enhance performance."
"Other hypervisors should be integrated with this system. Other hypervisors should be able to get the benefits of this solution."
"RecoverPoint is designed to integrate seamlessly with Dell EMC storage. If you don't have Dell EMC storage, you can't use it with other brands like IBM or HP."
"RecoverPoint's WAN optimization could be improved."
"In the future, I would like Dell RecoverPoint to evolve as an orchestration tool that can integrate with other replication tools such as Microsoft native replication and Oracle Data Guard."
"The interfaces could be improved for better ease of use. There's also room for improvement in direct compatibility with other solutions."
"When it comes to storage and backup, that is where scalability problems have affected us."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Support is an additional subscription."
"The product is fairly priced."
"RecoverPoint came free as an add-on to the PowerProtect Data Manager backup software from Dell EMC."
"The price is moderate."
"It is considered quite costly."
"While I recommend Dell EMC, it depends on your specific use case. Licensing is perpetual, meaning you buy it once."
"I don't have any visibility on the price because I am on the technical side, but based on what our client said, it is more expensive than other products. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
