Easy to use and deploy, user-friendly, and minimally intrusive
We are in the Philippines, and the support that we are getting is from France or Italy. We are in a different time zone, and sometimes, it can take five hours or more than five hours to get a response from them, but overall, their support is good. Most of our problems were solved.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The image backup feature is great. For example, if you set the journal to take a backup every ten minutes, it will create a snapshot or pointer every ten minutes for as long as you need."
"We use RecoverPoint for disaster recovery and asynchronous replication, and we use the application at a block level, not the software level. This has been tested, and it's very durable."
"The setups that we have in place are great."
"I would rate its stability almost a nine out of ten."
"Dell RecoverPoint offers cost savings in the long term."
"The tool's most valuable feature is stability."
"It is amazing because it is very easy to test with many alternative bookmarks."
"We have been able to achieve a very low RTO and RPO with near real-time replication policies and adequately sized journals for a limited recovery time requirement to bring systems online as well as a great recovery point to roll back to in the event of a disaster or outage."
"Syniti Data Replication is very easy to use, it is user-friendly and easy to set up, you can provide or create connections with just a simple click, and it is minimally intrusive."

Cons

"Currently the product does not support cascaded replication, only "Y" replication."
"The solution normally supports only specific types and amounts of storage. If it could be increased to support much larger amounts or a wider range, it could fetch a bigger market."
"It is worth mentioning that this solution is no longer supported, primarily because it doesn't replicate between two different storage systems anymore."
"The cost of the solution is pretty high. The licensing costs may affect a company's ability to scale."
"In the future, I would like Dell RecoverPoint to evolve as an orchestration tool that can integrate with other replication tools such as Microsoft native replication and Oracle Data Guard."
"I am waiting for block replication with VirtualBox."
"The initial setup is complex."

"There should be an option to easily create tables from its graphical user interface. Its price should also be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"RecoverPoint came free as an add-on to the PowerProtect Data Manager backup software from Dell EMC."
"The product is fairly priced."
"Support is an additional subscription."
"It is considered quite costly."
"The price is moderate."
"While I recommend Dell EMC, it depends on your specific use case. Licensing is perpetual, meaning you buy it once."
"I don't have any visibility on the price because I am on the technical side, but based on what our client said, it is more expensive than other products. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
