The dashboard offers stats and alerts. Updates frequently fail and need to be installed manually using CLI.

Monitoring has improved data loss detection and now spots abnormal internal file transfers quickly
In my understanding, the best feature Darktrace offers is the identification of copying files, which acts as a DLP, and it is a main concern for companies because users sometimes copy data outside without knowing, especially those without a technical background. When I mention the DLP-like feature and file copying detection, the alerts have been very timely, as we get an alert within a couple of minutes, which is excellent. Even if some developers are working after hours and copying files, our SOC team detects this, and most of the time they call us so we can identify the users. The alerts are quite accurate and proactive.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The accuracy of the signatures and the data gathered within the events, along with the Firesight and vulnerability data, greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to isolate a problem and contain it."
"This product offers an easy way to manage Cisco firewall's advanced features such as IDS and Rules, and it is a breeze to manage the firewalls."
"The product is extremely stable and mature."
"A simple, powerful AI solution that just does all the work for you when you turn it on."
"I have found the automation and AI features to be valuable. If someone were to come in to the office at midnight and log in, Darktrace would flag it."
"The most beneficial feature in Darktrace is identifying phishing emails with the help of the AI engine and machine learning."
"In terms of features, the data or information they collect and unsupervised machine learning are very valuable. Its unsupervised machine learning has reduced our team's effort. Both Darktrace and Vectra work on unsupervised machine learning that learns the behavior or develops a profile on its own, which allows our security team to do some other tasks rather than spending time on Darktrace or Vectra. Because of unsupervised machine learning, its detection capability is quite good. Along with that, if we utilize the integration feature properly, the automated incident response capability of Darktrace is quite useful."
"The solution is outstanding from a monitoring perspective."
"AI analytics are built directly into the product."
"I am impressed with the product's ability to give insights into network traffic."

Cons

"Updates frequently fail and need to be installed manually using CLI."
"The pricing is costly in USD, and they charge based on device counts."
"The technical support is not very good."
"The interface is too mathematical and it should be simplified."
"I think there is some MSSP missing."
"The only thing that I can think of that would improve it would be if they had a better visualization and a reporting portal."
"Block attack capabilities or integration with other SIEM solutions such as IBM QRadar."
"Although we haven't detected any network threats since implementing Darktrace, we are unsure of its efficacy. It would be beneficial if the solution could offer additional details to the user regarding any potential or prevented threats. Additionally, there could be better search tools and integration."
"The interface and dashboards could be improved for ease-of-use."

"The tool's pricing is costly."
"I'm unfamiliar with the exact cost, but we have a yearly license and had to pay for Darktrace's services before the deployment. The product is very expensive, so some organizations can't afford to pay the total amount directly, meaning they often seek a partner or pay in installments, which increases the price more."
