Broad perspective on strategic management exists but integration challenges hinder efficiency
The product execution part, such as planning and executing, is done through Atlassian tools, specifically Jira. We wanted to upgrade our ability to understand how all these products and teams are working against strategic goals, tracking expenses and time, but the integration between Broadcom Clarity and Atlassian Jira is very cumbersome and not straightforward. Their integration, even with ConnectALL, is just adequate, but it's never going to be great because they are actively trying to sell Rally. To make Broadcom Clarity a perfect product, I think with Jira, nothing can be done. To be fair, I don't know exactly how Rally integration works as I've only read about it, but I know that in marketing papers, it seems amazing with full-on integration, whereas with Jira, it just doesn't work that effectively.

Agile project management benefits from integrated tools for small and medium-sized teams
I use Zoho Sprints for Agile project management. It supports Scrum and Kanban frameworks, allowing me to work with epics and user stories, and manage projects effectively. It is suitable for software industries that adopt Agile methodologies in their projects Zoho Sprints can be integrated with…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are resource management and portfolio management."
"For us, what gave us a level of confidence was the investment and the transparency that CA showed in relation to their product roadmap, and where they want to take it."
"I love technical support; I love them, they're awesome."
"The step from spreadsheet to this... We knew we were in a bad spot with the spreadsheet; we said, "Okay, let's take a good first step and get off of that and then we'll go from there"; it's really exciting and I'm hoping to see the tool mature and see how it really benefits organization in the future."
"We have flexible scrum teams, developers that will serve on one scrum team for a few sprints or for a project. Being able to track where people go with the resource management features, and making sure that our teams are fully staffed, is important."
"Project management in CA PPM is elastic and comprehensive."
"As a Project and Portfolio management tool, it allows the company to allocate costs based on projects, goals, or strategies, and you can break down costs a lot easier because of the amount of detail you can put into the project."
"The app style of the new UI is absolutely fantastic. It's the right way to go. Our users will love it."
"It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"Zoho Sprints is stable with minimal downtime."
"Zoho Sprints is a defect-logging tool."
"Zoho Sprints can be integrated with other Zoho products, providing additional functionality."

Cons

"In the timesheet UX, you can't do things like splitting time, managing overtime versus regular time, very easily. That would be helpful."
"Technical support has been up and down. That's not always a great experience."
"The only real improvement from my side - I'm spoiled by things like Trello, with the very easy user interface, things like Basecamp - it's very much a static software project. If I was to focus on something it would be that user interface; making that something that is a joy to use, instead of something that feels like data entry."
"Clarity PPM would be improved by developing better support for the Agile framework."
"Ease of use, the user experience has been our biggest obstacle to overcome."
"I think user-friendliness is the key. Right now it's really clunky."
"The classic UI is very cumbersome. It can do everything but it's hard to use. It's easy to use once you understand it, but it's intimidating at first for somebody to see the solution."
"We want to get to know the CR functionality. We want to get a better picture of how to incorporate CR into our regular functionality."
"There is a need to improve the charts and velocity calculations in Zoho Sprints."
"Zoho Sprints is a confusing tool, and you need to get used to it."
"The interface of Zoho Sprints is an area with certain shortcomings."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The subscription is not that expensive."
"The price of Broadcom Clarity PPM is reasonable. My customers pay a license to use this solution on an annual basis."
"It is a little bit costly compared to others, but it is mature. Customer should understand this product is geared towards project management, not financial management."
"The price point of Broadcom Clarity PPM is less than Planisware. If a customer comes to me, and the cost is the main parameter for the selection of a tool, then I'll recommend Broadcom because cost-wise, they are less than other solutions."
"The licensing costs are a little bit high, and unfortunately, it has been a while since I've had that paperwork in front of me. I don't remember how much it was, but it seemed like it was fairly high. It is probably comparable to some of the other solutions because I do know that, for example, on a lot of the AWS stuff, they found that the costs wound up being higher than having some on-prem solution. Comparatively, Clarity is within the price range of other solutions."
"Better understanding of requirements and how it will be implemented (with number of licenses for a given budget) would help."
"We're also moving to the latest version for less than $20,000 for a major corporate system. It's just amazing."
"Pricing is flexible, depending on the customer and the region."
"The price of Zoho Sprints is between 10 to 25 USD per user per month."
"Zoho Sprints is a more cost-effective solution than Jira."
