Stable but bad technical support, and an out of date database

Helps secure the infrastructure and control users with admin rights
There are many features that are currently missing. A customization option is required for certain policies. For instance, if we need to stop PowerShell scripting, we have to create a different policy for that. Being able to create a sub-level policy within a top-level policy would be good. Currently, no user-based policy option is available inside the EPM console. We can only create computer-based policies. The database is available, but there is a drawback in not being able to create local groups on the EPM console. We only have to depend on Active Directory. This limits infrastructure security as we depend on the Active Directory team to manage user groups. If they remove any users, we lose control. If we could create groups locally and block them or set specific policies, we would have more control. Local endpoint management is missing from the EPM site. Moreover, there is an issue with policies not running as expected when we make enhancements. We have to find multiple ways to whitelist applications or enhance policies.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution has exchange protection. It has a content control, device control, a firewall, and anti-malware as well. They are all quite valuable features for us."
"The endpoint protection is the solution's most valuable feature."
"I like the simplicity of this solution and the fact that it saves us time. The deployment was really straightforward and useful and I am impressed by the anti-virus endpoint detection and response offered by this solution."
"The feature called PTA, which stands for Privileged Threat Analytics keeps track of what admins are doing and works with Centimeters. If something fishy is going on with a user's credentials, it alerts the security team so they can act fast. Plus, it automates stuff like resetting credentials or blocking users. So, if there's a potential hack, CyberArk can change passwords and lock out users in a snap. It also gives you a heads-up if anything unusual is going on with server activities, like someone creating new users with uncontrolled credentials."
"The password rotation and the session recording are the most valuable features."
"The solution's technical support is good."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager enhances computer security by providing minimal access, effectively preventing ransomware attacks."
"This is the number one product for privilege account security."
"We were able to reduce the number of privileged accounts by 50%, which helped to simplify our privileged access management environment."
"It offers great performance."
"It doesn't affect operational efficiency. If you set everything correctly, the user doesn't notice that it is in the background."

Cons

"The database needs improvement. It needs to be updated quite a bit."
"There needs to be better integration with the environment. Especially, for the active directory and also for keeping up with the changes from Microsoft. We use a lot of Microsoft OS. I have noted that sometimes they lag behind Microsoft updates. For example, when with Windows 10. I had some issues with deploying to Windows 10 because the solution was behind in updating their own services to match the Microsoft release."
"There are blurred lines between anti-virus and endpoint detection so I would say it can be confusing when you are considering buying this program. I would like to see that being explained better to the customer."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager could be improved by simplifying the administration process, specifically when setting up policies and applications."
"The product's threat protection and defense capabilities need enhancement."
"The price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required. The product's price should be made more flexible."
"The management of Privilege Access is not satisfactory."
"The main issues I experience are related to deployment, which requires dependency on other solutions like AD or SCCM."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager could be improved by simplifying the administration process, specifically when setting up policies and applications."
"The turnaround time of the support team is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The solution's pricing could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There's a yearly cost for licensing. For us, that comes to $1,400. There are no additional costs beyond the license itself."
"The tool is priced high. I would rate its pricing an eight out of ten."
"The tool's pricing is reasonable for customers."
"I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten since the price can be too high for smaller businesses."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is slightly expensive, but costs can be negotiated to become more competitive."
"The professional services for one eight-hour day would be $1,800."
"I believe it's quite a reasonably priced solution. It's not very common to use CyberArk because it's a niche solution, but customers who are willing to control administrative accounts are willing to pay this money."
"The product's license is easy to procure."
"Although I do not deal directly with the pricing, CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is costly compared to other solutions. However, it offers beneficial features."
