Bitdefender Security for AWS is a cloud‑native antimalware and workload‑protection service that secures EC2 instances on AWS with minimal performance impact via off‑loaded scanning and centralized man
Bitdefender Security for AWS could be improved by broadening its scope beyond basic antimalware on EC2 and adding features that better match how modern cloud workloads are built and run. Right now it’s focused on lightweight, off‑loaded scanning for EC2 instances, which is strong, but there are a few obvious gaps that customers often mention indirectly. From a feature‑roadmap perspective, the most useful additions would probably be deeper cloud‑native workload support, such as antimalware‑style protection or integrity checks for containers (ECS/EKS pods) and serverless components like Lambda, not just traditional EC2 VMs. Many teams today mix EC2 with containers and serverless, so being able to manage at least policy and visibility across those layers from the same GravityZone‑style console would make the product feel more comprehensive. Another area to improve is integration with AWS security and observability services: tighter bridging to GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail so that Bitdefender detections and scan events can flow directly into native AWS tools instead of relying only on GravityZone or a separate SIEM. This would reduce duplication, simplify alert routing, and help teams enforce consistent security‑and‑compliance rules across the board. Technically, it would also help if the product added lighter agent‑less or partially agent‑less options for scanning or integrity‑checking data and snapshots, similar to how some cloud‑security platforms inspect EBS volumes or backups without requiring a long‑running agent on every instance. This would appeal to teams that want antimalware‑style coverage but minimize the number of agents or services running on critical workloads. Finally, better cloud‑security posture and configuration insights (think basic CSPM‑style checks) around the EC2 and VPC environment would push the product closer to a full‑stack cloud‑security tool, rather than a dedicated antimalware layer. Customers already using GravityZone and XDR would likely appreciate seeing misconfigurations, risky IAM patterns, or open‑to‑the‑Internet instances flagged alongside the traditional malware‑detection view.

"I like the simplicity of this solution and the fact that it saves us time."
"The solution offers a ransomware vaccine which has been very beneficial to our organization."
"The solution has exchange protection. It has a content control, device control, a firewall, and anti-malware as well. They are all quite valuable features for us."
"The endpoint protection is the solution's most valuable feature."
"The solution protects us so that we have regular security from attacks."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS has positively impacted my organization by saving time and making things easier, and it also improved security."
"We consider Bitdefender Security for AWS as a leadership vendor for the cybersecurity solution through the useful product, simplify a single pane of glass, and the integration with the principal compliance regulatory requirements such as ISO 27001 and NIS 2 or DORA, among others."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS offers fantastic integration with the AWS inventory, an extremely lightweight agent, and modules that detect behavioral anomalies and provide extremely fast and accurate detections."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS has positively impacted my organization because it gives our partners and MSPs the flexibility to stay within the environment that they already have and not forcing them to move to a different environment, such as Microsoft."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS is just an extra added layer of protection and information that I wouldn't have otherwise."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS has had a positive impact on the organization; it improved our security posture by providing continuous protection for each workload, helping us detect threats early, and reducing the risk of a malware or ransomware incident."
"Previously, I was using in-house AWS tools, including AWS GuardRails and security groups, as well as other basic tools like Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel, but those were not adequate, which is why I switched to Bitdefender Security for AWS which has provided better ROI through reduced ransomware incidents, lower downtime, less manual malware cleanup, faster incident response, and improved compliance."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS has positively impacted my organization because whenever we plan to build on AWS, we follow integration processes and implement them properly, and after implementing Bitdefender Security for AWS, I saw specific outcomes such as easier monitoring and investigation, which makes the process much faster."

Cons

"The database needs improvement. It needs to be updated quite a bit."
"There are blurred lines between anti-virus and endpoint detection so I would say it can be confusing when you are considering buying this program. I would like to see that being explained better to the customer."
"Customer service needs a lot of improvement. They never replied or responded to our queries over the three years we've used it."
"There needs to be better integration with the environment. Especially, for the active directory and also for keeping up with the changes from Microsoft. We use a lot of Microsoft OS. I have noted that sometimes they lag behind Microsoft updates. For example, when with Windows 10. I had some issues with deploying to Windows 10 because the solution was behind in updating their own services to match the Microsoft release."
"Our clients consistently tell me that Bitdefender Security for AWS slows down their computers and internet speed significantly, so they suggest that this issue should be addressed since many clients complain about their computers running very slowly after installing Bitdefender Security for AWS."
"For a small industry, it will be fine, but when you are initiating Bitdefender Security for AWS in a large-scale environment, you need careful planning and tuning with policy tuning, and in a large scale, it will be difficult."
"I remember when they first pushed it to the DBM server, my backup server at the time, it caused a lot of issues because they were supposed to exclude all the folders that they were backing up to and had the storage. I got hold of the security group and asked them to uninstall it. We uninstalled it, ran a script, and then it fixed the problem."
"Bitdefender Security for AWS could be improved in the Threat Explorer part, as it doesn't detect everything."
"I think Bitdefender Security for AWS could improve as it currently has an issue of stability and growth of its tools, both in the administrative and technical areas, as well as in the security levels that are being required and needed more every day."
"To improve Bitdefender Security for AWS, the UI can be simplified as it can sometimes be complex, and there is alert noise with fake alerts being generated."
"Improvements needed for Bitdefender Security for AWS relate to CNAPP capabilities, as Bitdefender Security for AWS currently only focuses on workload protection."
"Truthfully, anytime someone incorporates AI into their company, I immediately find it less trustworthy and reliable and accurate."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There's a yearly cost for licensing. For us, that comes to $1,400. There are no additional costs beyond the license itself."
"It was included in the account that we had. We didn't have to pay for it."
