Facilitates seamless data pipeline creation with good analytics and and thorough monitoring
Azure Data Factory is a low code, no code platform, which is helpful. It provides many prebuilt functionalities that assist in building data pipelines. Also, it facilitates easy transformation with all required functionalities for analytics. Furthermore, it connects to different sources out-of-the-box, making integration much easier. The monitoring is very thorough, though a more readable version would be appreciable.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best part of this product is the extraction, transformation, and load."
"I like that it's a monolithic data platform. This is why we propose these solutions."
"The interface of Azure Data Factory is very usable with a more interactive visual experience, making it easier for people who are not as experienced in coding to work with."
"This solution will allow the organisation to improve its existing data offerings over time by adding predictive analytics, data sharing via APIs and other enhancements readily."
"The most valuable features are data transformations."
"Azure Data Factory is a low code, no code platform, which is helpful."
"Feature-wise, one of the most valuable ones is the data flows introduced recently in the solution."
"UI is easy to navigate and I can retrieve VTL code without knowing in-depth coding languages."
"What I like best about this solution is that it is built into the SAP line, making it easier to integrate with other SAP products."
"This product provides good reports using a single pane of glass."
"For report scheduling, I always prefer SAP because it has the most powerful scheduling features, like sending reports to more than 1,000 customers per day. That option is not as good in Microsoft BI and in Tableau it only exists as an add-on option."
"The platform's main benefit is its integration with SAP ERP data. It’s effective for data integration and integrity."
"SAP Analytics Hub offers a user-friendly interface with effortless configuration, seamless updates, and real-time availability of information. It avoids the complexities associated with batch processing, providing a smooth and efficient experience."
"Data consistency is also a notable feature; the system takes care of data consistency, so you don't need to handle it manually."

Cons

"There is no built-in function for automatically adding notifications concerning the progress or outline of a pipeline run."
"Snowflake connectivity was recently added and if the vendor provided some videos on how to create data then that would be helpful."
"You cannot use a custom data delimiter, which means that you have problems receiving data in certain formats."
"It can improve from the perspective of active logging. It can provide active logging information."
"The tool’s workflow is not user-friendly. It should also improve its orchestration monitoring."
"On the UI side, they could make it a little more intuitive in terms of how to add the radius components. Somebody who has been working with tools like Informatica or DataStage gets very used to how the UI looks and feels."
"There aren't many third-party extensions or plugins available in the solution."
"There's no Oracle connector if you want to do transformation using data flow activity, so Azure Data Factory needs more connectors for data flow transformation."
"The analytics part of SAP has not been that good up until now. They're still in the infant stage and development is still going on. SAP has some cloud analytics and they're trying to configure it in Lumira, but it's not that good at this point."
"The technical support for Analytics Hub is limited and could be improved."
"The platform could easily integrate with other ERP data solutions. Additionally, it should be faster compared to competitors in the cloud space."
"Pricing and support are integrated into the system. However, the support process can be challenging, particularly when navigating the SAP support site, which lacks user-friendliness and ease of access."
"The interface can be simplified because it is not a user-friendly experience."
"Faster implementation of new functions for the new product is an area of improvement in SAP Analytics Hub."

"There's no licensing for Azure Data Factory, they have a consumption payment model. How often you are running the service and how long that service takes to run. The price can be approximately $500 to $1,000 per month but depends on the scaling."
"The pricing model is based on usage and is not cheap."
"Pricing is comparable, it's somewhere in the middle."
"The licensing is a pay-as-you-go model, where you pay for what you consume."
"The price you pay is determined by how much you use it."
