Hands-free development has transformed my workflow and now powers full-scale payment projects
As a coder, the hands-free CLI tool, particularly Anthropic Claude Platform, is invaluable. Its ability to process extensive tasks with conversation-style simplicity is unparalleled. For instance, completing complex software projects incredibly fast, potentially in mere days, showcases its power. It empowers individuals who may not have large development teams to achieve substantial outcomes independently. Anthropic Claude Platform can automate many tasks simultaneously, making it a standout feature. Even in an outage or while multitasking, I utilize Anthropic Claude Platform. With just a few commands, it can continue its processes, interact with expansive databases, and manage diverse applications without constant oversight. This capacity to function seamlessly in high-demand environments is a core strength of the platform. My experience shows that credible teams can mirror full-scale innovative solutions using Anthropic Claude Platform, such as a complete payment processing system within a day. Furthermore, I sincerely appreciate the adaptability to integrate with various systems. Different tasks necessitate specific AI solutions, and Anthropic Claude Platform, with its integration, can circulate tasks across numerous platforms. The process is smooth, allowing for prompt execution of large-scale resolutions, such as Cloud Opus 4.8.

Has improved development quality and speed but has introduced persistent IDE slowdowns
In recent years, the IDE has been more buggy and slower, and although there have been more features added, I would like to see more stability, as some areas that used to work for a fairly long time are now slower in my development, which feels like a step back. I choose a seven mainly due to the issues we've faced with slowdowns and bugs during development, while runtime has been very stable, and the overall output on Mendix platform is still good; there is definitely some room for improvement, and I would probably have given it an eight or even a nine if those issues weren't hurting my developer output for the past few years. Overall, Mendix platform is stable, but the IDE could be better.

Pros

"It lets a very small team ship capabilities that would normally need a much larger one."
"Simply put, it has become an indispensable tool for me and those around me."
"It is a development platform which assists in accelerating your developmental lifecycle. This is one of its most valuable features. This solution also offers a good set of components that are readily available."
"Excellent support is offered for Mendix"
"In short, Mendix has improved our ability to delight our customers."
"The most valuable features of Mendix are the drag and drop functions, the data entities, domain models, and all the related features."
"Mendix has positively impacted my organization by being our primary building software and giving us a significant advantage over competitors who do not use a low-code platform."
"I highly regard Mendix because of its proper support, troubleshooting options, extensive learning path, and the availability of different types of exams."
"Mendix code and coding logic are very visual. It looks like a flow chart rather than lines of code. Rapid development is what drew us to Mendix."
"Mendix isn't just an IDE or a coding language; it's a whole platform where you don't have to worry about hosting or monitoring your application, tracking project progress or user stories, as everything is essentially provided by the platform, and it has a very active community helping you out if you have any questions at all."

Cons

"Sometimes I regret that Anthropic Claude Platform does not quite match up to other services such as ChatGPT 5 regarding design capabilities."
"More predictable rate-limit/quota headroom for batch and high-throughput workloads, and tighter native batch-inference ergonomics would help."
"My understanding is that, if you are not using the free version, it is very expensive."
"Mendix is not cheap. License fees go sky high when using it as a business to consumer platform."
"The area of this product that needs improving is the templates in which the user uses to create documents."
"It is expensive."
"The pricing is still a bit on the higher side and with other players in the MDD domain Mendix might need some price cuts to maintain or grow its popularity."
"We'd like to be able to write in C Sharp to develop code for Mendix."
"ROIs at this stage is not good because of the high license fees."
"A constraint of Mendix is that you have to look for the required plugins which takes up development time. There are a limited number of Mendix experts in the market."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Its cost is higher than competitors. The cost mostly includes licensing. It is charged per user. The cost model could be better. When you have a big company, what does per user mean? If I have a company where I have 40,000 people who will go to access it but only 200 do, how do you license it and who do you pay for? If they hit it once, do you pay for it? The licensing is complex for a big company. It is easy for us to buy all we can eat, get an enterprise license agreement, and call it good."
"I would not recommend the solution to small and medium-sized businesses because it’s expensive. It’s great for big organizations. I rate the pricing as a three out of ten."
"Pricing used to be complex, but Mendix has improved that quite a bit."
"From a commercial point of view, we would like them to change that they currently sell it as a platform, but as a customer you have to decide upfront the usage of the platform. We would like to have Mendix sell it as a pay as you go model: You pay for what you use, and you don't pay for what you don't use."
"Mendix licensing cost is based on the number of apps you have on the server. At the basic level, it is free of charge, so that seems reasonable, but once you go beyond that, and when it comes to the number of users on the app, that basic structure doesn't work, and the pricing tends to get a little bit steep."
"There is a license required to use Mendix. The solution's price is high, but it is best suited for enterprise companies that have the budget. It is not for small or medium-sized businesses."
"Mendix is not open source, but its license cost is cheap, particularly when compared to the Appian license. The license model would depend on how many users you have and how many applications you are creating. If you are creating a single app, you just need to have a single app license, so it's free. If you want a multiple app license to cover two thousand or three thousand users, for example, internal users or external users, then you need to pay for the license. There's also a license model for above three thousand or four thousand, or five thousand internal and external users."
"Mendix seems a bit expensive. But in terms of wanting to have less developers and higher velocity, the total cost of ownership is fine. It's not cheap, though."
