Useful for real-time analytics and monitoring application's health
We use the tool with AI for customer data analysis as part of our internal product. It's a medium effort for beginners to learn; it's not too easy but not too hard. Overall, I'd rate Amazon Timestream eight point five to nine out of ten based on my experience. Integrating it wasn't difficult, and we didn't face any challenges. My advice for new users is to choose the right dimension names for better query performance and structure their data correctly before indexing.

Transforms data flow with adaptable schema and smooth public cloud deployment
One of our business units uses MongoDB, and we developed an ETL pipeline that extracts data from MongoDB and transfers it into our data warehouse MongoDB is a NoSQL database that is similar to a document database. It offers flexibility in schema adaptation, allowing us to change the schema and…

Pros

"If you drop a message, the solution's technical support will definitely reply."
"You can quickly aggregate data from the last ten years with Amazon Timestream."
"What I like best is that the tool is easy to collect and store data and is fast and scalable. The fully managed database is easy to understand."
"The best things about Amazon Timestream are it's maintenance-free, customizable, and has no lag issues. It's always real-time."
"Using Amazon Timestream has been seamless due to its integration within the AWS ecosystem and ease of use for the engineering team."
"Its flexibility, and cost. It is reasonably priced."
"It is easy to set up."
"The initial setup isn't really that complex."
"MongoDB has many good replication features and good performance."
"The solution has good flexibility and very fast performance for searching data."
"I think that MongoDB isn't too structured, and that's good for our technical team because they are able to search through the database better than if they are using SQL Server."
"We find the query and speed very valuable."
"like its performance and the stability. It's very stable and, performance-wise, it's really great."

Cons

"Arranging the database schema is a bit challenging."
"There are certain features that we would like to see added and we are collaborating with the product teams on these areas."
"There are disadvantages when it comes to time series databases since you can't delete anything from Amazon Timestream data."
"The solution could be improved by making it easier for new graduates like me to use. Better explanations of queries and how to use them with other AWS services would help."
"The tool could be improved by increasing the batch size from one hundred records to five hundred or a thousand to speed up indexing."
"The user interface is not as friendly as Oracle, which is something that can be improved."
"I'd like to see an ID generator. It's very technical but I don't think it has one, so we have to go to great lengths to work around that."
"The solution can be a bit tough to set up if you don't have knowledge about how the database works."
"The stability could be better."
"There is a need for improvement in MongoDB's customer support."
"The solution could include more integrations with other platforms."
"Some of the solution's transaction capabilities can be improved."
"Its security features can be better. Sometimes, my higher authority says that we are not going to use MongoDB because it doesn't provide that much security for the RDBMS or relational data that we use for transactions. Instead of MongoDB, we will use Oracle Database because for a transactional service, you have to rely on RDBMS ACID properties. I would love to work on MongoDB by using my mobile phone. When I am working remotely or traveling and have some instances deployed on my server, I should be able to check through my mobile whether all the data is being pulled. GitHub has a similar feature, where it lets you read from the laptop, and you can also pull and push with your mobile phone. I would request MongoDB to provide such a feature. Basically, I want a mobile version for both iOS and Android versions."

"We are using the Community Edition of MongoDB."
"MongoDB is an open-source product."
