Offers automatic scaling features but can improve user interface and setup guidance
Customizable policies help us determine how scaling should occur. In enterprise environments such as healthcare or banking with numerous instances running different applications, customizable policies allow appropriate scaling. For critical servers, we can set up a higher number of new instances to scale out to prevent downtime. For less critical servers that perform simple tasks such as file copying, we can use customizable policies to scale out minimal instances to avoid unnecessary expenses or cloud costs. Regarding integration, there are some disadvantages in AWS where certain availability zones or regions experience glitches. This can cause production halts because of problems on Amazon's side. In particular regions, when integrating Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling or other services, there might be delays in creating new Amazon EC2 instances, sometimes becoming inefficient.

Easy to manage, flexible, and has good scaling options
A partner company called Cloud40 helped us with the deployment. It took a couple of weeks for the deployment to happen. The steps we took for the deployment process included research and information planning about what we wanted to do while moving from physical to the cloud. We have used all the hardware and other resources available to make sure of the connection.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling is used if your computers are heavily using resources or heavily loaded, this is going to impact your backend environment."
"The most valuable feature of Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling is its scalability."
"The auto scaling feature is beneficial; users don't need Terraform or another tool to automate this kind of situation, and when configuring Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling without wanting to spend excessive money, it can be scaled up during peak demand times and scaled down during particular days or periods."
"We use the solution to increase CPU and memory size."
"Every AWS user should utilize the solution if they are not using Lambda."
"Auto-scaling is a good feature."
"I like the fact that you don't need to pay for it when you aren't using it, especially in a disaster recovery scenario. The pricing is transparent, so you know what you're going to pay for it."
"The documentation is good."
"I find the solution's scaling capability to be an important benefit. You can scale it vertically or horizontally, i.e., you can upgrade the hardware or clone the machine. The solution is also easy to manage and flexible. Additionally, you get some layers of security without paying for it."

Cons

"EC2 is doing what it is intended to do, and I have no specific improvements to suggest."
"There should be an AWS instance in South Africa, where the latency would be even lower. It might happen soon since AWS has recently opened more data centres in Nigeria. AWS may extend its reach to South Africa, and offer hosted CLI servers there. Most of the problems with AWS are not to do with the solution itself but with configuration. It is something on design, more or less."
"You cannot do anything at all on that T2 micro. It's a useless tier to have introduced, as you can't do anything at all."
"Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling can provide more discounts when using the machines the solution uses."
"Sometimes the configuration is not intuitive."
"The price could always be a bit better."
"The solution is not cheap."
"There is a need for improvement in understanding the pricing structure, as it is complex and depends on several factors such as the location of data centers."
"I have two areas of improvement to comment on. Most of the product names in AWS are not indicative of what they are doing. Moreover, AWS is not organized and you do not have the full platform with you. It is hard to know some AWS services."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"Compared to the performance, the price is quite high. I would rate it a ten because it is expensive. There are additional costs including bandwidth costs, data transfer costs, and load balancing costs."
"The tool's pricing is good and not expensive."
"The solution pricing varies by service region is mid-range."
"The solution is less expensive than a few competitors."
"The price of this product could be a little bit lower."
"When we want to use more services, we need to pay more. It's a monthly subscription, rather than licensed-based. Pricing or fees for Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling could be improved."
"It's cost-effective."
"I find the solution's pricing reasonable. You need to pay extra for IP and other miscellaneous costs."
