Strong security reporting has supported our consulting work and drives better integration choices
I rated Adlumin Security Operations probably the same as Huntress at eight. They are better at reporting and better integrations. The integrations in terms of the number of integrations you can run from them or connect to are not as many as available with Huntress, but they have easier implementation. Overall, I would say it is the same. I do not want to see any additional features in the next release of Adlumin Security Operations, but I would change the pricing a little bit for around SIEM integrations and SIEM data collection. That is probably the maximum I would do. I do not really have much to say because that is literally five percent of our deployments versus ninety-five percent being Huntress. My overall rating for this review is eight.

Comprehensive monitoring boosts security, yet incident management features need expansion
Fortinet FortiSIEM should broaden its remediation part to include more features for incident management. Currently, to manage repetitive incidents or for remediation, I need to use a separate software called FortiSOAR. Additionally, the search functionality in FortiAI should be improved to provide more precise results, making it easier for me to understand what actions need to be taken.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We normally focus on Huntress."
"The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiSIEM is the user and entity behave as analytics(UEBA). This feature mixes your data and provides useful information based on the behavior of the targeted."
"AccelOps can handle a lot of data and it's just so important to true monitoring."
"It's a very nice solution to work with."
"Every feature is good. This is one of the greatest SIEM products on the market."
"It gives greater visibility via the dashboards into the real-time status of the network and also provides specific alerts and performance monitoring."
"The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiSIEM is the correlation of many events."
"The product's initial setup phase was easy."
"If you don't have a dedicated team to handle your logs, don't have a big budget, and want a solution to correlate and collect logs from many vendors, Fortinet FortiSIEM is an excellent choice."

Cons

"Adlumin Security Operations's functionality is probably slightly better, but implementation and integration with Office 365 was not as straightforward."
"Not very good on non-API features, lacks that functionality."
"I would like to see easier implementation in the future."
"Ease-of-use for end users that do not spend every day in the product. Also, the presentation of historical and trending data in dashboards needs to be improved immensely."
"The built-in APIs in Fortinet FortiSIEM are somewhat lacking and could be improved for better integration with external ITSM products."
"Their product support, in general, is not that great. When you log a call, you don't get instant replies or if there is a bug they take ages to fix it and they ask you to hold."
"FortiSIEM is a bit resource-hungry, so work should be done on hardware resource utilization to consume less hardware."
"With FortiSIEM, the issue has to do with the ways we can generate a report. It's not as flexible compared to that with other SIEM tools, like Splunk."
"Issues that could have been resolved in 30-60 minutes sometimes took months, but they have improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing charges attached to the product. The free version license of the product is available for two months."
"Pricing is determined based on the customer's budget."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive. I rate the tool's price as an eight out of ten. Compared with Splunk or Oracle, Fortinet is cheap."
"Manageable, however would be better as pay as you go versus CapEX."
"We bought the perpetual license, so we own the product, but there is a three-year support renewal fee for that."
"Please be cheaper and more simplified."
"There are additional features that cost more than the standard licensing fees."
"The tool is really expensive. For what the tool does for our team, the price is fair."
