Adaptive scales well, simple to create new budget versions and models
For the organization I used to work at, it streamlined the process of creating budgets. It's very simple to create a new version and do some more modeling based on your need for planning things like headcount, other expenses, and revenue, everything is configurable within Workday. So that made it easy. Reporting was pretty easy to set up as well. It streamlined the amount of time it took to do the budget as well as kind of making it simple to implement a rolling forecast process. So, it really was more just a productivity increase and time shortening for the budgeting and forecasting process.

Provides all essential features needed in an integrated Enterprise Performance Management framework
The solution's initial setup/configuration is straightforward. As far as cloud setup is concerned, no installation is involved. In that case, the solution is maintained and hosted by Oracle. The time frame for deployment depends on the use cases. It is rapidly deployable for out-of-the-box features and customizable for any further changes/enhancements needed. It takes anywhere between six to ten weeks to deploy for standard requirements.

Real-time reporting streamlines decision-making but technical support could improve
Integrating narrative reporting helps the whole organization, allowing each person in the department to understand the flow. I was fortunate to get initiated in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud first, as that was the first project where I was placed during campus placement from college. It is the best solution currently in the market, though it is mostly designed for bigger organizations. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud a 10.

"I value Oracle's flexibility and customization levels."
"The product has a direct plugin to Microsoft Excel."
"One of the most valuable features of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is the ability to have budgeting, finance, and management running in a single tool."
"We previously used Oracle EDS, and when comparing it to this solution, this solution has a much better interface. There are lots of advantages of the new solutions. Having it on the cloud, we are able to forget about keeping them updated or taking care of the database. We have minimal maintenance."

Cons

"We tried Discovery and OfficeConnect at one point and found them too cumbersome, at the time."
"It's a Workday product; they could do a little bit better to integrate a pure-play integration with Workday, which really doesn't do that."
"Better user interface (UI)."
"Adaptive Insights could improve the data designer interface to make integrations easier to set up."
"Adaptive Insights has a limit of 1,00,000 rows for HTML reports. It should be improved because we will have multiple dimensions that need to be populated to enhance the image."
"Their customer support team is slow to respond and not extremely confident."
"The upload feature exists, but isn't terribly useful."
"Users continue to become more advanced and are looking for more advanced solutions."
"Integration of AI, IoT, and RPA-based automation and prediction features with the solution will be a great plus. Oracle is continuously investing efforts in this direction and new features are being released on a continuous basis."
"On the cloud, additional security is required."
"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve by creating a more visual and user-friendly interface similar to the old ABC analytics."
"One potential improvement would be a more visual workflow, as the current method using a tax list is not as effective."
"The business rules behind the forms need improvement, and the total processing time should be enhanced with the help of proper commands, specifically regarding the execution time of existing rules."
"Some of the things in this product are just too cumbersome and we don't need them and they make it harder to do certain things, or certain things have to have more specific names or descriptions."
"Oracle initially forced HFM users to migrate to FCCS, which was difficult because moving applications wasn't easy."
"There is middleware that we need to purchase for our use case that should be provided in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud. We should not have to purchase the additional solution and the integration should be seamless."
"The tool's interface is outdated. However, OneStream is easier to navigate."
"There are some issues with block creation in the memory. Sometimes, when we run a calculation and a new intersection is hit during the calculation, the memory block doesn't get created, which doesn't give the correct result."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's affordable."
"Pricing is in line with other cloud-based EPM tools. It is a subscription-based model based upon the number of users and site type if it's an admin or end-user type thing."
"Licensing seems to be worth the cost considering the efficiency Adaptive brings."
"Ensure that you have the proper pricing plan in place."
"Adaptive Insights' pricing is relative to its peer competitors. It's certainly competitive compared to a spreadsheet template that you build in Excel. It can be expensive if you need to have 100-500 budget holders giving input and building financial plans. However, in that case, it becomes an extremely good bargain. Compared to its competitors, it offers an excellent value."
"Prior to purchasing licenses, make sure you understand which users will only need planning and which users will need both planning and OfficeConnect."
"Adaptive Insights' pricing is reasonable."
"Everything is negotiable, but this solution is low cost compared to others."
"Its licensing covers support and maintenance infrastructure as well."
"There is an annual subscription for this solution and it is priced high."
"The solution is free."
"The price of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is expensive. However, it solves a lot of issues at the company. Having a better price could make us think about using more cloud products for Oracle and increase usage."
"It is expensive."
