Allows us to configure the risk algorithm to suit our specific needs
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of Brinqa are its data integration capabilities."
  • "Brinqa could improve in terms of the speed of their service and resource provision."

What is our primary use case?

I use Brinqa for managing risks based on data from various sources, which include collecting data from different places, like scans, compliance checks, and threat info, and then ranking the risks. It helps me see the big picture and deal with the most important problems.

How has it helped my organization?

Brinqa has made a big difference in our organization. It helps us focus on managing risks effectively and increases our awareness of potential problems. It also promotes teamwork between different departments, not just for fixing issues but also for long-term planning with both short and long-term strategies.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Brinqa are its data integration capabilities, allowing connections to various products, and its high level of customization. Unlike some competitors, Brinqa allows us to configure the risk algorithm to suit our specific needs, which is a significant advantage.

What needs improvement?

Brinqa could improve in terms of the speed of their service and resource provision. We felt they were somewhat slow in assisting us in maturing our processes. Additionally, we encountered some stability issues, although I'm unsure if they have fully addressed them yet. For the next release, I would like more focus on remediation and automation features. It would be great to understand their future plans for these areas. Also, having the ability to compare our results with industry standards would help with benchmarking.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have worked with Brinqa for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of the solution as a six out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability of the solution as a seven out of ten. Brinqa's scalability is continually improving, with the addition of more connectors over time. We had approximately 150 users of the solution at our company and it was used daily.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Brinqa's technical support at a seven. We did encounter some issues, primarily due to a high dependency on specific individuals within our organization.

How was the initial setup?

I would give the easiness of the initial setup a seven out of ten. It can be a bit complex. Some connections are straightforward, but some take a long time. Deploying Brinqa took time, as it was done in phases. Initially, it took about six months before we started getting valuable data from it. Then, it expanded from there. The deployment began with a product demo and contract negotiation. We connected some data sources to Brinqa's cloud service, which was straightforward. We used the default risk ranking algorithm but faced issues with the dashboards, so we customized them to fit our organization's needs over a few years. We depended a lot on Brinqa for the deployment. We had some internal resources, but they lacked the needed skills, so it took time to train our two-man team. Initially, it required one person for maintenance, and they spent most of their time on it.

What was our ROI?

Using Brinqa has provided a return on investment. It saves time through automation and fosters a valuable partnership by helping understand organizational vulnerability risks. I would rate the return on investment at a seven, but it could potentially be higher. It depends on various factors.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I would rate the costliness of the solution at a seven out of ten. It is on the expensive side and there are some additional fees.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Brinqa, we evaluated other options such as Kenna and Skybox Security. We chose Brinqa over other solutions due to positive user feedback, strong connection and integration capabilities, and the flexibility for customization.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for someone considering Brinqa is to recognize its value but carefully review the dashboards and reporting to ensure they meet your needs. Be ready to engage with Brinqa support for maintenance and scalability. It is also wise to explore alternative vendors to determine if there is a better fit for your organization. Overall, I would rate Brinqa as a seven out of ten.
