Pros and Cons
  • "The support is amazing! They solve the issues on the fly."
  • "It would be great if there were a section on the provider's website that shows a set of services for a particular business. It would be helpful to have some kind of checklist of services that are suitable for your blog, which are required, and which can be set up later."

What is our primary use case?

When I started to blog on social media and had a few followers, everything suited me. Then I started promoting my services, and social media functionality was no longer useful.

I decided to build a website to process the orders. It also annoys me that the quality of photos and videos is constantly being cut. I use such expensive photography equipment, yet the quality is awful anyway. I have a standard blogging set: a lot of photos and videos, and I plan to stream, also. Therefore, page loading speed and points of presence in several countries were important to me.

How has it helped my organization?

It's very good that G-Core has a trial with the ability to test all the functions. They have a bunch of tier plans, and when starting, it may not be clear which features you need and which you don’t.

Also, I wanted to test if their hosting is really as fast as they say and if there are any glitches.

While there was little traffic on my site, I used a free CDN plan for several months and bought hosting.

Everything works great from the first day of use. Now, I have already switched over to another tier, as the traffic has increased

What is most valuable?

G-Core is the second provider I use. There were problems with streaming, although the number of people at that time was small. The video constantly dragged, and there were problems with buffering. That’s the biggest improvement for me, as far as all my work is related. I'm now showing a high-quality and good-looking picture. After I started using G-Core, this problem with low-quality images disappeared.

I also monitor the statistics of devices from which my content is viewed the most, and it’s good that there is a traffic-splitting function.

The support is amazing! They solve the issues on the fly. In the beginning, I had some problems and used their support a lot.

What needs improvement?

When I was setting up a website, I did not have a specialist who would help me to understand what settings I needed or didn't need at all. I’ve read a lot of information to understand what exactly is appropriate for my blog. It would be great if there were a section on the provider's website that shows a set of services for a particular business. It would be helpful to have some kind of checklist of services that are suitable for your blog, which are required, and which can be set up later. While it's great that there are trial periods and user-friendly interfaces, still, you can go crazy.

Pros and Cons
  • "The product's most valuable feature is its ability to deliver content to users nearby."
  • "They could be expanding the number of locations available. It will help users easily access content."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for Amazon CloudFront is to cache content near users for faster delivery. For instance, when we need to deliver real-time reports to customers, we cache them in locations close to the users. It allows them to access the reports in a fraction of a second.

What is most valuable?

The product's most valuable feature is its ability to deliver content to users nearby. We have limited AWS regions, so accessing content directly from these regions can incur delays. However, with CloudFront, we can cache content closer to users, ensuring real-time access.

What needs improvement?

They could be expanding the number of locations available. It will help users easily access content.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Amazon CloudFront for six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

While I have not encountered any major issues, sometimes it isn't easy to implement. However, considering these platforms are already extensively tested, any bugs encountered are usually addressed promptly. Overall, it works well. I rate the platform's stability an eight.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the platform's scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

One of my team members typically handles interactions with AWS support, and they have been able to provide satisfactory answers to our queries.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Microsoft before.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup may seem difficult for first-time users, as is often with any cloud platform. However, with some work experience, navigating the screens and understanding the processes becomes easier. It takes only a few minutes or seconds to complete.

What other advice do I have?

The security features provided by CloudFront have benefited our operations as we did not need to implement any additional security measures. The built-in security features were sufficient for our business requirements. I highly recommend a product if someone requires a solution for real-time access to data and content.

I rate it a nine out of ten.
