Used for device management and provides automated device enrollment feature
Pros and Cons
  • "Many features of Jamf School, including automated device enrollment, have helped us manage multiple devices."
  • "If you start the system update in Jamf School, you cannot stop it."

What is our primary use case?

Jamf School is used for device management in our educational institution.

What is most valuable?

Jamf School is an MDM (mobile device management) solution. Many features of Jamf School, including automated device enrollment, have helped us manage multiple devices. Security is important in a school, and Jamf School ensures that the teachers' accounts are secure and safe.

What needs improvement?

If you start the system update in Jamf School, you cannot stop it. When we once started the update on 200 iPads and faced an issue with the internet, we couldn't stop the process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Jamf School for one year.

How are customer service and support?

I wasted time going back and forth with the technical support team to get an answer for an issue I faced with Jamf School.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We started with Jamf Protect for all devices. We switched to Jamf School last year because of the Jamf School app and its features.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Jamf School is an expensive solution.

What other advice do I have?

We're happy to have a strong MDM solution like Jamf School. Not many schools can afford it, and we are lucky to have the solution. Jamf School has helped push applications to the iPad and do all the iPad System updates and app updates. With Jamf School, it's easy for teachers to monitor the iPad within the classroom and manage all the running activities.

The solution's support and training resources have helped resolve user issues and manage daily tasks. It saves time and effort for us. I would recommend Jamf School to other users.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Improves productivity and allows team collaboration in organizations
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
  • "The solution's technical support team takes time to respond to users, making it an area of the tool's shortcomings where improvements are required."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution in my company as I administer and have users on its packages, like SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Exchange.

What needs improvement?

The solution's technical support team takes time to respond to users, making it an area of the tool's shortcomings where improvements are required.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft 365 Business for a couple of years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted technical support for the solution, but it was not necessarily for Microsoft 365 Business. After my company had contacted the technical support for the solution, they responded to us after a week. The solution's technical support's response was helpful. I rate the solution's technical support a five out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, my company did not use a unified communication tool. For unified communication, my company started to use Microsoft 365 Business. My company used to use technology like Slack for team collaboration. My company used to use local products to manage emails. My company had a totally different license for Office 365. Microsoft 365 Business was chosen by our company as a solution to combine everything. My company does not use a similar technology, like Microsoft 365 Business. In general, my company improved by moving away from disintegrated technologies, and now we are able to integrate different technologies using Microsoft 365 Business.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was straightforward. Even normal people can use it.

The product's whole deployment phase takes a bit of time, depending on the number of people involved with the tool, and it is mostly done as a project, wherein you have to deal with it in a group-by-group manner. You have to select a certain number of people and let them use it for a week, and after that, you take specific groups.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My company places emphasis on the different licenses purchased. The company has P1 and P2 licenses from Microsoft. For certain tasks, you need a Microsoft license. There are additional costs attached to the licensing part so that one can receive additional services like support from Microsoft. In general, the product offers different licenses at different prices based on which users have to determine the features they want in the product. My company has P1 and P2 licenses from Microsoft.

What other advice do I have?

From an integration perspective, Microsoft 365 Business has Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Exchange.

The product helps me deal with remote work. It is a collaborative tool that allows you to have everything in one place.

The features of the tool that are helpful in team collaboration were very helpful. While using SharePoint in our company, if we have to work on an Excel sheet, then a group of people have to work on it, and if we share the sheet, we can have multiple people working on it in different areas. A couple of permissions have to be given for the people in my company to be able to work on a common Excel sheet and interact on a particular document.

The tool's features that have impacted our company's productivity area stem from the fact that it allows users to provide certain permissions, wherein users can give other people permission to edit or view a document.

When it comes to the security of the product, I would say that if you don't give permission to others, then they will not be able to access the document. It is possible to create a list with the details of the individuals who will be responsible for handling the document.

It is possible to know if someone makes changes in a particular document that has been shared with them by the company.

The product is straightforward, in my opinion.

I recommend the product to those who plan to use it.

If certain changes in the product happen, then users face issues with rebuilding Outlook profiles. If some integrations are required, our company faces problems with certain plug-ins because the tool offers a lot of features even before one starts to use it. There are certain things that people normally use, owing to which some plug-ins need to be added to the tool, though some plug-ins are available, and you can easily add them as a solution. Some plug-ins need to be created in the tool, while some are going to be outdated, so users will have to create them. In our company, we have moved from disintegrated applications to a unified approach. There is third-party software that our company needs to be able to integrate with Microsoft 365 Business.

I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.
