Reliable stability with minimal software issues and offers good analytical reporting features
Pros and Cons
  • "Infor dEPM's got the best end-user reporting solution that keeps us motivated and moving forward with this solution only."
  • "The latest version has been cloud-enabled, but it requires a deeper understanding of programming skills compared to the previous versions, which were more user-friendly."

What is our primary use case?

We have a significant number of customers in the housing and hospitality industries. Infor dEPM helps us with end-to-end management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, planning, re-planning, and analytical reporting.

How has it helped my organization?

What is most valuable?

Infor dEPM's got the best end-user reporting solution that keeps us motivated and moving forward with this solution.

What needs improvement?

There's always room for improvement. Especially when it comes to scaling and cloud integration. The latest version has been cloud-enabled, but it requires a deeper understanding of programming skills compared to the previous versions, which were more user-friendly and allowed end-to-end development.

So, based on our current experience, there is a paradigm shift. Previously, I could handle everything myself as a finance user developer, but now I require programmers' assistance to deliver the desired outcomes. This shift has been significant for me.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for a longer period of time. It has been in use for over 25 years. So, I've been using it since 1998.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In terms of stability, we have experienced very few issues with the software itself. So I would rate the stability of the solution around nine out of ten.

There's always room for improvement. If there's a feature that doesn't work as expected, we can provide feedback, and they address it accordingly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

From a cloud perspective, I would rate the scalability of Infor dEPM around eight or nine. The multi-tenant cloud scales as expected, and there's always room for improvement. Additional processing power and memory are available as you scale, depending on your licensing agreement.

How are customer service and support?

How was the initial setup?

Initially, the setup and configuration are similar to Jedox, if that's what you're familiar with in terms of products. We follow a well-defined plan for each of our custom-built models. It's important to plan the development process based on understanding the end-user requirements and deliverables. By planning backward, we can ensure better design and easier model delivery.

It's deployed on AWS, specifically the private cloud. They also offer a multi-tenant cloud solution, but there's a distinct on-premise version as well. The on-premise version provides more end-user insight and caters to different needs.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is competitive. I would say it falls within a competitive range. With the shift towards SaaS-type pricing, it remains competitive in the market.

If you purchase the cloud version, it includes a certain number of named users. These users can all be developers, and there are no additional fees from that perspective. As for the on-premise version, I'm not entirely sure as I'm a new on-premise customer. There might be a maintenance contract, but I don't think there are any extra fees beyond that.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate Infor dEPM an eight on a scale from one to ten. It has improved significantly, especially with version twelve. It used to be a perfect ten, but now it stands at a solid eight, which is still quite good.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Infor dEPM is very easy to deploy. I'd give it a ten out of ten for for ease of deployment. First, we find out the customer's requirements and create a demo for their specific needs. Next, we customize the solution to handle the customer's requirements. We then train the customers and start implementing their live data.

Our customers have the solution deployed on the cloud or on-premises. The deployment took about a month.
