I worked on developing interactive business intelligence dashboards using Qlik Sense, with existing QlikView dashboards serving as functional references. My role involved analyzing business requirements, recreating reports and visualizations in Qlik Sense, designing user-friendly dashboards, and ensuring accurate data representation for stakeholders.
One of the key challenges was that certain features available in QlikView were not yet supported in Qlik Sense, as the platform was still evolving. To overcome these limitations, I explored alternative approaches and implemented suitable workarounds while maintaining the required functionality and user experience.
The project involved data integration, data transformation, dashboard development, and performance optimization. Qlik Sense enabled us to create visually appealing and interactive dashboards with filtering, drill-down, and self-service analytics capabilities. We also scheduled regular data refreshes to ensure users always had access to the most up-to-date information.
Additionally, I worked on improving dashboard usability by removing unnecessary data, optimizing visualizations, and enhancing overall performance. The dashboards were shared across teams, enabling better collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and real-time business insights. Through this project, I gained experience in dashboard development, data modeling, troubleshooting visualization challenges, and delivering business-focused analytics solutions.
If I were to do the project again, I would perform a detailed feature-gap analysis between QlikView and Qlik Sense at the start, optimize the data model earlier, and involve stakeholders more frequently for feedback. This would reduce rework, improve performance, and help deliver the dashboards more efficiently.
