I am in search of a Business Intelligence solution - defined as near real-time operational reporting, ad-hoc reporting, analytics, and insights.
Data & Analytics platforms seem to fall short on reporting.
Can anyone speak to their experience with Qlik Sense as a BI platform? As I understand it, in order to get a complete reporting and deployment suite, you need to add on a 3rd party product such as Mail & Deploy (sort of like NPrinting, but for the SaaS product).
What are the shortcomings of Domo, Tableau, and Orbit Analytics when it comes to reporting that I should consider?

You must now think about your data sources, which should be accurate and clean. Do you need to prepare or transform your data, or not? You now need to consider your finances and compare both subscription-based and free open source business intelligence. The market is filled with BI systems, and while many of their primary features are comparable, there are differences in each one's cost and level of capability. Some solutions start out inexpensively, but if you require more functionality, you must pay more or even purchase a third-party product. Some solutions appear to be more expensive, yet they come with all the tools you might not need going forward. Finally, whichever option you select will require some time commitment because your core company is unrelated to IT and you require tools for data analytics. In any case, I use Sisense, but you can start with any solution and compare the characteristics of each to see which is easier.

I think you should first decide which budget you can allocate for it.
You can find "free' tools like Google Looker Studio, which have limited reporting and email capabilities.
I assume other cloud vendors have similar "free" tools.
Other reporting tools can cost from 10's $ per user per month to 100K$ for a year and more.
