What is our primary use case?
My use case is requirement gathering and refining the DDNS. We also use PTC integrity as a configuration management tool to housekeep the source codes and documents.
How has it helped my organization?
Initially, the interface was slower, but right now, it is giving complete linkage to the user also. For example, when we are launching it and when we are starting, creating any new requirements or something in that requirement gathering part, it flows through a process, which is actually helpful for making that accountability for this particular requirement. This is the point that I can say is a little bit helpful from an accountability point of view.
What is most valuable?
The requirement management tool feature and, definitely, the DVP&R linkage with the requirement management tool are the most useful features.
What needs improvement?
I see that when we just define the configuration management part, it is a completely different case. Somehow in our organization or current profile, we are not built to make that linkage between that requirement and the configuration management part. So, if it is making some kind of accountability there or some kind of configuration linkage, then it would be a little bit helpful.
The training material for PTC Integrity should be made a little bit easier or more useful for the user. At least for the new commerce may be. If it is possible, they can make it module-wise for the PTC Integrity team. To give along with the PTC channel itself, then it might be a little bit helpful. For example, as in the MATLAB that we are using, users have ample amount of use cases there and resources by which they can explore the learning part also. So, if it is possible for PTC Integrity directly to get that one, it will be helpful for the new users.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with PTC Integrity Requirements Connector for three to four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a stable solution. I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
From our side, we have completely seen the full scope of that part. We are still exploring it. So, that only is the point, nothing else.
It is very difficult to say how many users are currently working with PTC Integrity Requirements Connector because it's a huge organization, and everybody has their different needs and requirements. So, for us, around 40 to 50 people are working, at least, from my department and zone.
As for increasing the usage of PTC Integrity, that decision is beyond me. I am just a user right now. So, it might be going to the management, and management should take a call on that part. If the project increases, they might be adding users also, definitely.
I would rate the scalability of the PTC Integrity Requirements Connector a six or seven out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support, right now, we are getting it actually from our own IT department. I have not explored the external requirement or people who can help with the PTC Integrity part. So, that has not been done from our side. I rate the support a nine out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
Sometimes it feels a little bit difficult, and then it really requires some kind of exposure to that. Otherwise, it is difficult.
I feel the deployment is easier when considering that the time taken for deployment can be determined in hours only.
So, currently, what we are doing is at the application layer we are using. So, completing the deployment part or new addition, we are actually not doing it from our side.
The solution is deployed on a private cloud in our organization. I would rate the initial setup a seven out of ten.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I will not be able to comment on the pricing because this is a corporate part. They have different agreements with PTC, so I cannot say.
What other advice do I have?
The product has all sections, and it covers all the points.
I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.
