We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product's integration with PostgreSQL and Jira has been helpful for us. Its performance is good. However, we do not use it for large data sets.""Talend Data integration has a wide library of connectors.""I'm very passionate about this solution because if you look at any other tool that costs around $200 - $300,000, like Delphix which costs you a million dollars, Talend is very cheap and is almost is at par with what others can do. There is one thing which Delphix does which Talend cannot do, but overall, I would say apart from that, if you're looking for a solution, you should give it a try.""We have multiple use cases for this solution. We integrate with Salesforce, SAP and Oracle databases to build business logic and provide reporting."

"The Business Studio interface based on SCA Standards helps to show the business logic at first look and improve code maintenance.""It is user friendly, it's not complex.""The solution is very scalable. It can handle a lot. We have encryption plus integration servers running on that platform currently.""One of the most valuable features is data transformation. We have some legacy systems which are in old technology, like SOAP, whereas the new ones are in REST. So we use BusinessWorks to transform data from one format to another, from SOAP to REST.""I work in operations, so I value BusinessWorks' performance the most.""It is a seamless and sophisticated tool.""The most valuable feature is the low-code platform.""The high availability, tolerance, and load balancing features are top-notch. Its scalability features are also pretty cool."

Cons
"The tool's technical support needs to be better. It doesn't have a local data center but pushes everything to the cloud. They need to check in with customers to see if they're happy and how well the solutions work. They need to assign a customer success manager for the accounts they sell.""There are no concurrent licenses, they only have seat licenses on cloud. That's the whole challenge. For example, if in any project your headcount increases or decreases, you do not have that concurrence and you have a seat license, you run into challenges because you have to procure a few more licenses for getting the job done.""Sometimes there are bugs which are unidentified and we have to follow-up with the Talend team to resolve them. In a critical situation, it takes time for them to update patches.""Due to using the open-source version of Talend Data Integration, which lacks a scheduler, our current approach involves developing jobs in Talend, exporting them as Java packages, and utilizing an external scheduler, such as Windows Scheduler, to manage the scheduling process."

More Talend Data integration Cons →

"Technical support is average. It's not the best.""The initial setup is not easy.""Cloud fitness is lacking""The technical support's turnaround time is an area where TIBCO needs to consider improvements...Getting support from TIBCO on a particular issue takes a lot of turnaround time.""The cost of this product is too expensive for smaller companies or those with a small number of integrations.""The cost of the solution has room for improvement.""There are multiple plugins which increase the number of product installations.""Scaling with the solution is costly because if we need to scale up, we have to buy more memory. That means more money. Solutions like Camel or Pulsar come with built-in options to scale horizontally, vertically, region-wide or country-wide."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I have been using the open-source version."
  • More Talend Data integration Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "My understanding is that the licensing is very costly."
  • "It is a bit expensive for medium-sized companies. If you are migrating from the current version to the container-supported version, it is quite expensive. The existing licensing will not work because the product platform itself is different."
  • "Its price policy has changed quite a lot in the last two years. It was extremely expensive previously. Nowadays, you can buy a license for BusinessWorks for €2000. Looking at what you get in return in terms of support, TIBCO community, and stability, it is fairly reasonable. It is not too expensive."
  • "I think BusinessWorks is more expensive compared to other products. We have the ELA, so at least we have some sort of bargain or discount with that. But for a start-up, it's very expensive compared to other ESBs."
  • "Licensing scheme is too rigid"
  • "I don't have the prices of the products, but I know that TIBCO is not a cheap solution. I think that this solution is more suitable for large companies because I don't think that small- or medium-sized companies would have the money for this solution. WSO2 has the community version for free, so many of the smaller companies can use it. I'm not sure what the prices are for support, though, so I suppose the support for WSO2 is not cheap either."
  • "The solution is too expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions out there, particularly because there are so many open-source competitors on the market. I don't know the exact numbers, however."
  • "I give the cost of the solution a four out of ten."
