Has automated recurring data flows and improved accuracy in reporting
The best features of Talend Data Integration are its rich set of components that let you connect to almost any data design intuitive and its strong automation and scheduling capabilities. The TMap component is especially valuable because it allows flexible transformation, joins, and filtering in a single place. I also rely a lot on context variables to manage different environments like Dev, Test, and production, without changing the code. The error handling and logging tools are very helpful for monitoring and troubleshooting, which makes the workflow more reliable. Talend Data Integration has helped our company by automating and standardizing data processes. Before, many of these tasks were done manually, which took more time and often led to errors. With Talend Data Integration, we built automated pipelines that extract, clean, and load data consistently. This not only saves hours of manual effort, but also improves the accuracy and reliability of data. As a result, business teams had faster access to trustworthy information for reporting and decision making, which directly improved efficiency and productivity. Talend Data Integration has had a measurable impact on our organization. By automating daily data loading processes, we reduced manual effort by around three or four hours per day, which saved roughly 60 to 80 hours per month. We also improved data accuracy. Error rates dropped by more than 70% because validation rules were built into the jobs. In addition, reporting teams now receive fresh data at least 50% faster, which means they can make decisions earlier and with more confidence. Overall, Talend Data Integration has increased both efficiency and reliability in our data workflows.

Connects to any data source from any region and offers unified access
There are no specific projects supported by Starburst regarding AI initiatives or machine learning projects. In the future, if we have all the data available, we can definitely capitalize on AI/ML and LLM capabilities to summarize data and gain insights. That's our future goal, but we haven't reached that point yet. There should be support for REST API data sources to access data from the web. We often have data coming in and communicate with data sources via REST API calls. I don't see that capability in Starburst currently; everything is through JDBC or ODBC. If Starburst could seamlessly access data using REST API capabilities, it would be a game-changer. The self-service data management features, like self-service materialized views, are great, but they can be a bit complex for basic users to understand.

"The best features Qlik Talend Cloud offers include the fact that it is built on Java, which gives me the chance to customize my requirements and write my own Java code to achieve my logic."
"I would definitely recommend others to implement this product as it is really helpful, easy to learn, user friendly, provides lot of enhanced features, etc."
"The jobs are visual and this has improved collaboration between colleagues. It’s much easier to understand a visual job than a piece of Java code."
"Qlik Talend Cloud has had a positive impact on my organization by automating data integration processes, reducing manual errors, and ensuring reliable and up-to-date data for reports and business decisions."
"Better control and flexibility to add/custom define features, to tailor to your needs by modifying its Java generated code."
"The most valuable features of the Talend Data Management Platform are the components."
"Talend Data Integration has positively impacted my organization because it is used for master management data, which I think most other components lack, but Talend Data Integration has that capability for using master management data as standard data."
"It's very scalable, fast performing, and supports many catalogs."
"We have noticed improvements in performance using Starburst Enterprise. It handles complex data, including reading and partitioning files. We can add a new catalog to Starburst Enterprise by providing connection details and service account information. This allows us to integrate with existing tools, such as the Snowflake database, which we use for data protection in our project."

Cons

"Data management could also encompass APIs and real-time streaming data integration."
"The documentation from version to version could be more accurate. I have found information that is inaccurate or doesn't apply to the version I am trying to install or work in."
"Sometimes when working with larger datasets (possibly due to insufficient memory)."
"The pricing is a little higher than what I had expected, but it's comparable with I-PASS competitors."
"I would like to sync a project and do an upload from that current version, and then from GitLab, be able to download the latest one."
"For us in New Zealand, it is quite expensive."
"I encountered scalability issues."
"They lack in memory capacity."
"Starburst Enterprise could improve by offering additional features similar to those provided by other SQL query tools. For example, incorporating functionalities like pivot tables would make it more feasible to use."
"There should be support for REST API data sources to access data from the web."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is cheap."
"The price of the Talend Data Management Platform is reasonable. The other competing solutions are priced high. Gartner Magic Quadrant identified other solutions, such as Informatica, that are far more expensive."
"The product pricing is considered very good, especially compared to other data integration tools in the market."
"I have been using the open-source version."
"Moreover, the pricing structure stands out as highly competitive compared to other offerings in the market, making it a cost-effective choice for users."
"The pricing is a little higher than what I had expected, but it's comparable with I-PASS competitors."
"I would advise to first take a look and at the Open Studio edition. Figure out what you need and purchase the appropriate license."
"License renewal is on a yearly basis."
"I haven't personally dealt with the pricing aspects first-hand, but from what I understand, it largely depends on the specifics of your setup, especially the machines you use on AWS. The cost of using Starburst Enterprise can vary based on the amount of data you're processing and the type of machines you opt for, whether on AWS or another cloud platform."
