Provides BTRFS file system, which allows you to take snapshots
I only use the tool for testing purposes on my team, but multiple people use it. We don't make a team effort to install the solution. When it comes to maintenance, we ask our company to buy SUSE Linux Enterprise. My team consists of 13 people. We are currently integrating the solution with Ansible to do some coding. Although not a full-fledged automation, we are integrating the solution with Ansible and executing a couple of playbooks connected to openSUSE Leap. I would recommend the solution to other users looking for an open-source solution. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Linux's advanced terminal empowers versatile usage and ongoing secure development
Initially, there was nothing complicated. It's easy since I have many years of experience with it. However, if I were a beginner with Linux, it could be completely disruptive compared to Windows. So, I would have to spend some time practicing with Linux to understand how it works and how I can accomplish the same tasks compared to Windows. Maybe one month, at least.

Easy installation and the initial setup time is reasonable
Stability can be an issue. I have to restart it every two days. And the boot time is quite long. My laptop's old, has no SSD, and is just a traditional Winchester. Had desktops with Windows 11 and SSDs, much better performance. But hardware limitations on my current laptop lead to stability and response issues. It's more like the whole reinstall every two years thing. It makes cleaning a pain. Performance improves significantly after a fresh install, then slowly deteriorates as I add more programs. But my biggest concern with Windows 10 is actually bigger than my situation. I'm replacing my laptop anyway, but I read that Windows 10 support ends in a year or so. And with hardware limitations, many other computers won't run Windows 11. So it's not just me. A lot of people with decent, still-working Windows 10 machines will lose support and be unable to switch to 11. This will be a significant problem for individuals and institutions. Large companies with thousands of computers don't replace them every three years, and they might face issues with many computers unable to run Windows 11 and lacking support for 10.

Pros

"It is open-source, secure, and easy to use."
"The initial setup is simple."
"Ubuntu Linux is easy to start, and MicroK8s is easy to deploy. Plug into the back-end storage and networking is also easy. It is good to start with 3-4 nodes, but hard to scale. For production grades like 20 or 100 nodes, we go with the RedHat for on-premise."
"Ubuntu is free and stable."
"What makes Ubuntu easy to use is the large set of applications and the interface. The graphical interface is user friendly."
"There are many features I like about this solution, but one that stands out, is that it allows me to easily install new packages and to have recent packages available."
"Stable and easy to use solution."
"The solution is free to use and open-source."
"We've found the scalability to be good."

Cons

"I would like openSUSE Leap to have better link integration with Windows."

"In the future, the Active Directory could improve."
"There is room for improvement in the console."
"It would be helpful if we could easily switch from openSUSE Leap for testing to SUSE Linux Enterprise for production."
"Could be even more light weight than it currently is."
"Like most Linux systems, they can just keep increasing support in Ubuntu for hardware systems. They can increase the number of drivers so that Ubuntu can work on more hardware. They have been improving greatly, but they can definitely keep doing that."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say management and storage. Mostly, the storage mechanism."
"For a broken Ubuntu system, you must do a new installation. There is no existing repair option."

"I would like to see the group policies and the GUI improved in the next release."
"I want a more stable version of the Linux interface that you can use within Windows 10."
"They should have something like a dashboard where users can tune the performance. After using Windows 10 for a while, the operating system starts to slow down. It does not operate like it did when you first installed it."
"I think the price should be lower for all computer products. Microsoft is a major company that makes a lot of money, so maybe they have enough."
"Compared to Ubuntu or other products, I don't consider the operating system to be that great in terms of stability."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the security patches. The security patches do not come very frequently with the operating systems."
"Sometimes it doesn't work, and it constantly needs fixing in terms of upgrades, patches, etc."
"The pricing could always be lower."
"Built into the solution is Windows Defender, which is in all the recent versions of the Windows operating system, however, we still end up buying an extra antivirus product in the market to ensure we are secure."
