Good for reporting, but a little rigorous in its methodology and not conducive to real project management
It is a little rigorous in its methodology and is cumbersome. For example, I have a hard stop date and I would like a project to end by a specific date, but this is not how this solution works. It sorts of spits out the project date based on your resource availability, dependencies, and so on. This sort of project planning works in theory, but that's not always the case. It also relies heavily on resources entering their time into the system, that is, how much time they worked on each of the tasks so that it can sort of consistently update the project. I know that in a lot of organizations, including ours, it is almost impossible to get them to track the time. In terms of additional features, they can include more integration with Microsoft because integration is going to be a key functionality.

Capably brings single source of truth to enterprise project portfolio management; provides consequential, flexible data display with effective visualization; integrated use of Agile, Kanban
Planisware helpfully distributes incremental updates on a quarterly schedule. Extent of the client base and collective user expectations push priority improvements into new versions and resolve rare technical glitches rapidly. What any single user or small client may earnestly request for increasing productivity may take years for development to start—unless one pays rather dearly for underwriting special services from Planisware’s offshore support group. Individual users, particularly those who suddenly lack affiliation with a paying client between jobs have been bottom priority in my experience. Service tickets don’t apply for this category of formerly active users. I recommend that Planisware provides formerly active users privilege of connectivity with Planisware “playground” environments that are periodically refreshed with a current release version. This new option would cultivate “hands on” proficiency in the overall Planisware user community.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its dashboards and reports are the most valuable, and we are able to share these reports and other information with our leadership."
"The entire organisation is now on the same page, with one source of truth."
"LiquidPlanner is a great tool for Getting Things Done enthusiasts and project managers in general."
"Planisware is primarily used for planning, scheduling, resourcing, and budgeting, and in addition to that, Planisware also has the flexibility to do work management execution and agile modules; it is an all-rounder."
"The solution is performance-oriented and easily customized accordingly to many areas, such as performance KPI."
"I found Planisware really effective, and I appreciate it."
"Planisware's advanced reporting capabilities help the organization track project performance and align initiatives with organizational goals."
"Compared to other PPM tools, Planisware is more advanced."
"Planisware is a beautiful tool that is very efficient, clear, well-designed, and more robust than any I have used."
"The area that could benefit from improvement in this Planisware is the project management tool. I have previously used Project Server, which is a Microsoft solution, and I found it to be more user-friendly as it included a client solution. In contrast, with this solution, the only option available is the online version, making it difficult to create activities, milestones, and other necessary components. This is in comparison to Planisware, which offers a more comprehensive solution."
"The positive impact I have seen from working with Planisware is due to its efficacy and speed; it has very few updates and is easy to use."

Cons

"I'd like to see more power and triggers in the iOS app."
"It is a little rigorous in its methodology and is cumbersome."

"Perhaps my only comment is that it is not cheap but in saying that, it is worth every penny."
"The initial setup was complex."
"Its stability should be improved. Its stability is the main issue, but we sometimes also have issues with calculations."
"The biggest con for Planisware is that if you are not a Planisware partner, you don't have access to their functions, making it difficult for beginners and new team members."
"More integration is needed with other kinds of products for better collaboration."
"Reporting out of PLW has been a definite weakness."
"I have experienced some issues, and that’s okay. It tends to be stable when the server's processing power and memory are adequate."
"There are a lot of bugs, and the stability of the system has been a problem for a year and a half."
"The project dashboard feature worked perfectly for small to small-medium projects, but on a large scale, it was not flexible enough to handle a program-level dashboard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"There are training and certification costs."
"The solution could be less expensive and the cost of scaling is expensive too."
"The solution is expensive and support is an extra cost. There are three license types to choose from, and we only pay for support and cloud services depending on our needs."
