We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a stable product. After the initial configuration, you don't have to tweak it much. All systems of Everest IMS work perfectly.""Our response time is within 30 minutes for any support. This solution provides alerts immediately, so we are within our SLA, giving efficiency to our support.""Their discovery is very quick and they have a CSV file upload mechanism that allows you to onboard five thousand devices a day.""We use the solution to automatically trigger processes to help us resolve issues. The whole IT process has been automated, such as trying to map all the users and the escalation process. So, if any issue happens, we get an SMS and WhatsApp of the report. If there is a critical issue this has to be sorted out, like the entire data center being down, then there is an alarm.""The feature that I like the most and the best part is the customization.""The most valuable feature is alerting. We get email alerts when a link is down that tell us which device is having a problem.""The backup, restore, and comparison features are all good.""The role-based dashboards provide data points and charts and topology diagrams in a single window. It's like a spider web, where the application, connectivity, and everything is defined for each user of those applications."

"NetApp Cloud Insights helps with login monitoring and troubleshooting. Previously, if we had performance concerns or needed to interface with other groups and their products, a task that should require only one or two people turned into a six-person job.""It is good for giving an overview of the systems and for tracking long-term trends. It is handy for root cause analysis, e.g. it can eliminate whether storage is the cause of an issue.""Among the most valuable features are the queries and reporting that allow us to look at the utilization of resources, at how well the storage is performing, and to report on which resources are being used by which business units. We can track usage across the entire environment, across applications, business units, cost centers, etc.""Cloud Secure is definitely the most valuable feature and being able to see file level activity. It gives real-time alerting on possible ransomware attacks and provides file security review. It helps us to see if something abnormal is happening on the system before it's too late.""All our production clusters are in Cloud Insight. It provides a single pane of glass, giving us visibility into the environment, which allows us to understand if any issues are going on across any of our clusters.""One feature we appreciate the most is its ability to take snapshots, which adds an extra layer of security and allows us to protect our data effectively.""Its ability to quickly inventory our resources, figure out interdependencies across them, and assemble a topology of your environment is brilliant. There is a price associated with it. Whenever you target a NetApp environment, it is included in the price but whenever you want to add different vendors, like VMware and Cisco, the price greatly spikes. Inventorization helps us a lot to visualize the environment.""The solution is easy to deploy."

Cons
"Email support is a bit slow. Once you drop an email, it takes time.""The graphical view of the topology does not show us all of the connectivity in our network, which is something that could be improved.""The GUI is in need of improvement. It is not drag-and-drop or easy to use.""I would like to see an integrated view of Infraon IMS and Infraon Desk. It would be very helpful if that were integrated into the solution.""There might be some features in other products that are currently not there in Everest IMS and can be included. I have not yet compared it with any other product.""I would like to have the option to add a new device or meet with the next release. Right now, it needs to be done from the backend which results in a heavy reliance on R&D.""We have enquired if there are any possibilities of monitoring non-IPBS devices.""This solution is available in SaaS. The reason why we have not gone to SaaS is they do not have a country-specific separation of assets. There are GDPR and other requirements that might require country-specific sensitive information to be filtered as well as other things that need to be taken care of. Normally, if we need to do any compliance, like ISO27000 compliance, they don't have such a report within their system. This kind of report is missing from their SaaS. That is one of the reasons that we have gone to the on-prem version, where I am assured that my data is secure."

"Most of the time, I initially connect with entry-level support, and then I need to request a higher-tier support level, which can result in delays.""Cloud Insights could offer more detail when we drill down into the Azure environment.""Their pricing model needs improvement.""The visualization needs some improvement because there are occasional delays while the system queries information.""The support is not very quick.""The IP-based monitoring could be added in a future release.""There is room for improving the creating and managing or modifying of reports. That is still a difficult task to do and requires knowledge beyond the storage itself. I would love to see reporting improved so that we can create reports by dragging and dropping pieces into a report form and publish a report that way.""Ease of reporting is one thing that they're trying to tackle. If you have a specific set of data you want from Cloud Insights, you can ask NetApp to help you build the reports from the ground up. The dashboards are intuitive, but finding the report you want is sometimes a challenge. If you don't have the report already loaded, pulling it in and letting it build its data can be cumbersome."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We pay for a number of devices on the accounts and since it is on-premises, we pay the maintenance charges for the year."
  • "The pricing is reasonable, given the features that they provide."
  • "The cost model is within our budget. I have less than 180 critical assets, but the moment that I have 1,000 assets, then the license model is totally different. I don't know whether they are capable of handling that kind of a load. They could revisit the licensing model."
  • "If you are looking for the best product with the best price, Infraon is the best product. We evaluated five to six products and finally felt Infraon was better because of the pricing model, especially because it was more flexible."
  • "Licensing is calculated on a per-user basis."
  • "I think that the pricing for this solution is reasonable and varies by number of devices."

  • "The licensing model could be improved. We love that you can use it for free for looking at NetApp products. You only need licenses to look at non-NetApp products, but as soon as you do that, you start utilizing licenses that actually would have been free in the public. So, there is a bit of an anomaly in the licensing model."
  • "Be aware of the capacity licensing and understand how that works, because it is based on capacity. Getting an understanding of that is the biggest thing."
  • "The solution's pricing is based on the device you purchase and includes support services."
  • "We are billed based on management units, so we can purchase units based on six months, twelve months, twenty-four months, or thirty-six months upfront or pay as you go depending on our requirements."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "The licensing is complex. The calculation depends on what you're ingesting. A terabyte of one product is not a terabyte of another product. Virtual machines don't equate so easily. It's all about the end-use managed units and having an easy place to reference how far those units go."
