Data quality checks have reduced manual monitoring but still face cost and performance issues
Some of the best features Informatica Data Quality offers include AI automation using CLAIRE, which integrates AI with Informatica Data Quality, and its user-friendly drag-and-drop interface. All of this is simply usable to any person who has minimal knowledge of ETL. Rather than querying every table to check for any duplicate entries or null values, it is impossible to query for each site. Once we integrate it with Informatica Data Quality and use the drag-and-drop function to specify the conditions we need and connect to the databases, it directly checks if the values are within the threshold or if we can set conditions, such as not entering records with null values. It also features a match and merge condition, from which data profiling and data cleansing can be done.

Has automated recurring data flows and improved accuracy in reporting
The best features of Talend Data Integration are its rich set of components that let you connect to almost any data design intuitive and its strong automation and scheduling capabilities. The TMap component is especially valuable because it allows flexible transformation, joins, and filtering in a single place. I also rely a lot on context variables to manage different environments like Dev, Test, and production, without changing the code. The error handling and logging tools are very helpful for monitoring and troubleshooting, which makes the workflow more reliable. Talend Data Integration has helped our company by automating and standardizing data processes. Before, many of these tasks were done manually, which took more time and often led to errors. With Talend Data Integration, we built automated pipelines that extract, clean, and load data consistently. This not only saves hours of manual effort, but also improves the accuracy and reliability of data. As a result, business teams had faster access to trustworthy information for reporting and decision making, which directly improved efficiency and productivity. Talend Data Integration has had a measurable impact on our organization. By automating daily data loading processes, we reduced manual effort by around three or four hours per day, which saved roughly 60 to 80 hours per month. We also improved data accuracy. Error rates dropped by more than 70% because validation rules were built into the jobs. In addition, reporting teams now receive fresh data at least 50% faster, which means they can make decisions earlier and with more confidence. Overall, Talend Data Integration has increased both efficiency and reliability in our data workflows.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"About Informatica Data Quality, I do not think that I have any questions because the product is very good."
"Since we integrated Informatica Data Quality in our project, the amount of human interaction has reduced, so the team has decreased, resulting in cost savings for our project and improved time by automating checks for missing or null values."
"We are still in the process of evaluating them, but I love the way things look in Talend, and I'm all for Talend."
"It reduces the QA effort immensely by handling most of the test scenarios in a reusable way."
"Flexibility is a key feature I appreciate about Talend Data Integration, especially the integration of Java within it and the ease of integrating with multiple source repositories such as GitHub and Bitbucket."
"I'm very passionate about this solution because if you look at any other tool that costs around $200 - $300,000, like Delphix which costs you a million dollars, Talend is very cheap and is almost is at par with what others can do. There is one thing which Delphix does which Talend cannot do, but overall, I would say apart from that, if you're looking for a solution, you should give it a try."
"If your use case depends on heterogeneous sources like Salesforce, SAP, and some other product information systems, I would recommend Talend."
"We’re also able to respond much more quickly to changes and demands from the business, as we can create and change jobs quickly and provide new data for reports within hours."
"The most valuable feature is the data loading and scripting language"
"The file fetch process is impeccable."

Cons

"The scalability is not up to mark in my view because even a small increase in data, like the number of rows, can cause the server to crash, requiring a reboot."
"Not enough material is available for beginners."
"The documentation from version to version could be more accurate."
"Account for Java developers/custom development efforts apart from DQ functional/technical expertise, to use Talend DQ product to the fullest."
"The product must enhance the data quality."
"The pricing is a little higher than what I had expected, but it's comparable with I-PASS competitors."
"The product's setup process could be simpler."
"The stability is good, but the performance is slower when I work on a huge amount of data."
"Sometimes there are bugs which are unidentified and we have to follow-up with the Talend team to resolve them. In a critical situation, it takes time for them to update patches."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The price of the Talend Data Management Platform is reasonable. The other competing solutions are priced high. Gartner Magic Quadrant identified other solutions, such as Informatica, that are far more expensive."
"It is cheaper than Informatica. Talend Data Quality costs somewhere between $10,000 to $12,000 per year for a seat license. It would cost around $20,000 per year for a concurrent license. It is the same for the whole big data solution, which comes with Talend DI, Talend DQ, and TDM."
"I have been using the open-source version."
"Moreover, the pricing structure stands out as highly competitive compared to other offerings in the market, making it a cost-effective choice for users."
"We did not purchase a separate license for DQ. It is part of our data platform suite, and I believe it is well-priced."
"The licensing cost is about 40,000 Euros a year."
"I would advise to first take a look and at the Open Studio edition. Figure out what you need and purchase the appropriate license."
"The solution's pricing is very reasonable and half the cost of Informatica."
