The weaknesses I would like to address in Oracle Enterprise Manager involve the dealing of Grid Infrastructure. Oracle Enterprise Manager's handling of Grid Infrastructure needs some improvement. I want to see additional features in the future that deal with security in relation to Oracle Grid Infrastructure. I want to improve these two components.

Pros

"The most valuable features of Informatica Data Archive are ease of use, and the flows from one layer to the next are simple to understand."
"One of the most valuable features of Informatica Data Archive is its performance."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to integrate directly into S Space and move data, run business rules, run calculation scripts, and things like that."
"I think the neatest, most valuable feature of Enterprise Manager (OEM) is that single pane of glass for the whole stack, that it gives me as an admin the ability to look all the way up from my storage all the way up to the application tier."
"It can also help with capacity planning, sizing, and maximizing overall performance in a large scale environment."
"In fact, I've already met many people in which I have done just that."
"I would recommend that you try OEM, it can monitor many different products and it has been well designed."
"The job subsystem, monitoring subsystem, alerting, grouping of targets, and reporting features are valuable to us."
"For any Enterprise edition database customer, I highly recommend that they should implement OEM and at a minimum purchase license for Diagnostic and Tuning pack for database."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a very user-friendly tool."

Cons

"Informatica Data Archive could improve by providing training. Training is one area where we lack, there are not very many trained resources in the market for sales, GPM, proposals, new offerings, or new features that are being added to this solution. It would be really helpful for consultants, like me, to understand the new, cool features these solutions are constantly adding. Training is something, that should be in place."
"The recovery features could improve in Informatica Data Archive."
"Technical support could be more responsive."
"Sometimes the solution can be quite difficult in terms of when you want to deploy agents."
"I don't think anybody can walk on water. Software is buggy and that's the nature of the beast."
"The deployment is not straightforward."
"It is complicated to run it on Google Chrome."
"The platform's interface could be more streamlined. Currently, there are multiple ways to navigate to a specific point, which can be confusing."
"OEM needs to be a little bit faster."
"I don't think it is that scalable. We are using multiple nodes, and we have faced issues there, with the scaling."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Informatica Data Archive is reasonable. Different versions of the solution are available, such as the professional edition and enterprise edition."
"The license is good but can be improved."
"Evaluate your requirements carefully. Elaborate DR and HA setup of OEM can become expensive."
"It is part of Real Application Testing, so no new investment is necessary for clients who already are already using RAT."
"Oracle Enterprise Manager is a free tool from Oracle."
"Based upon 3 days of implementation by a single person, plus licensing costs would be approximately $60,000, including the virtualized hosts."
"The solution is inexpensive to purchase."
"The basic functions are free. You only pay license fees for advanced features."
"It's expensive."
