Excellent for budgeting and forecasting, but long-term it will no longer be developed or supported
The fact that in a few years' time it is no longer going to be supported is a big concern. Therefore, I would advise against Hubble. Additionally, I think we underestimated the time for deployment, we thought it would be a few months and it took much longer than expected because the consultants didn't understand our process in detail before committing to the process. On a scale of one to ten, I would give Hubble a seven.

Has supported complex data pipeline creation but performance tuning and monitoring responsiveness need improvement
Sometimes, I see various performance issues with Informatica PowerCenter, including caching concerns, whether it's a joiner transformation or other transformations, so I believe the team can enhance the performance perspectives of these transformations. Additionally, sometimes the Informatica Monitor hangs or takes time to open the current run or logs, which the team can also look into. Informatica is transitioning to cloud solutions and discontinuing on-premise support after 2026, so when we discuss Informatica Cloud and its support, it becomes quite expensive for the organization compared to peers such as SnapLogic or Netezza, which offer lower pricing. Informatica Cloud Intelligence's pricing is notably high.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have saved hours of Excel work producing the same results, which Hubble gives in minutes."
"Hubble will truly blow you away once you get to know the product and the people behind it."
"Being able to create calculations, hierarchies, aging buckets, etc. has reduced the Excel reports we used to have."
"The most valuable features are both its budgeting and forecasting."
"Reporting was dramatically improved."
"I found the map links, work links, and workflows valuable. They are important features."
"We have found the PowerCenter and B2B data transformation most valuable, and additionally, they have many native connectors, high performance, and a lot of support documentation."
"Informatica PowerCenter is very good for integrating a huge amount of data in a very short duration, such as a minute. It is also very easy to use. After you provide the source and the target, mappings are automatically done, which makes it easy to use for the development team."
"Informatica PowerCenter has been implementing mapping design, data flow, and workflow execution for years."
"Once you figure it out, it is a powerful and simple ETL tool. Its stability has been very satisfactory."
"It is very robust, scalable, and simple to use, and it is very comprehensive in terms of connector and transformation capabilities from both a source and target perspective."
"I like the automated scheduling feature."
"It's a very powerful tool you can use to load data, get data, do the drawing between the tables, and put it into the packet in a very fast way."

Cons

"The only thing I may add is that it can get a little pricey when you add annual maintenance."
"We have been advised by the owners that the budgeting tool is no longer going to be supported with future development, so my recommendation would be for them to continue to invest in development. Otherwise, at some point we will have to migrate to another technology."
"The fact that in a few years' time it is no longer going to be supported is a big concern. Therefore, I would advise against Hubble."
"Exporting to Excel takes a lot of time when broken into sheets/files."
"When exporting to Excel, it is values only."
"GUI: Lack of clarity and consistency created problems for our staff."
"Informatica are very rigid when it comes to cloud migrations which discourages customers in moving their solution to the cloud."
"In terms of performance improvement and tuning, there should be a bit more guidance and documentation."
"I would like to see it be able to import data from NoSQL."
"Informatica PowerCenter can be improved by integrating features that allow scheduling a workflow more easily on the main window itself, and also, I miss the ability to connect to several repositories at the same time; if that's possible, it would be very handy."
"What I didn't like about it is that the platform itself is not great at distributed processing. When you need high parallel processing, it has some inherent issues. We had to use Java transformation, and it did not go very well. I have heard that it is going to the cloud, but we haven't tried that."
"The UI is a little outdated."
"There can be scalability issues. Huge amounts of data ingestion will impact performance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing for Informatica PowerCenter is expensive. Some clients have simple needs and only want to integrate and store data. Some clients have small needs, while some clients have bigger needs and focus more on performance and time. The licensing cost for Informatica PowerCenter isn't good. In my project, if I remember correctly, the company pays €20,000 per year for the Informatica PowerCenter license. I'm not aware of additional costs that you need to pay for some features of the solution. On a scale of one to five, I'm rating its price a three."
"Licensing is a one time cost. But maintenance costs depend on what you want, how long you need it. Maintenance is a kind of insurance. With health insurance, you don't know whether you will get sick or need to go to hospital or not but you have to have insurance. It's the same thing with support. If you have that expertise in resolving issues, if you have enough experience in your IT department, I would say you don't need the support. But in practice, they recommend you go with the support. If you want support you have to pay for it."
"According to what I've heard and read on various blogs, it's quite expensive when compared to similar competitive products."
"Since the solution's cost is higher, I rate the pricing as a five out of ten."
"Its maintenance is expensive."
"It's much more expensive, almost three times more expensive than most other solutions."
"Our client has purchased the license, and we are using it."
"The price could be better. It's very expensive. On a scale from one to five, I would give Informatica PowerCenter's price a one."
