Has integrated solutions and rapid recovery made management smoother and more reliable
There is the latest update from HPE regarding HPE SimpliVity. For virtualization, HPE has to depend on other manufacturers, OEMs such as VMware or Hyper-V. Recently, HPE declared the VM essential virtualization solution. In the future, if HPE integrates HPE SimpliVity with VM essential, that will be a great combination. Functionality-wise, I am totally satisfied with HPE SimpliVity, but for improvement, if HPE integrates its own virtualization solution, this combination and integration will be beneficial because this integration can be configured with the cloud-based system. A VM can be uploaded to the cloud from this, which will be advantageous for backup to other sites.

Extremely easy to learn and use for beginners
Some features go well with other tools like VMware, where making something on the fly or making some changes on the fly in the area of memory or something is possible. On the fly, you cannot do anything on Scale Computing HC3, though it is a very rarely needed area. Being able to make some changes on the fly is very risky, but even then, you see customers saying since it is an area that is not possible with Scale Computing HC3, it is better to go with some other tools. My company convinces our customers that opting for another solution is not required since a tool that allows us to make some changes on the fly can be very risky, and it is also not something that fits in according to certain policies or good practices.

"It has improved our backup situation by reducing its complexity and improving recovery time."
"The pricing of the solution is very good."

"Scale Computing HC3 is highly stable."
"I would advise others they should use this solution instead of traditional servers because it's safer, and better for the company."
"The stability is very good; I have no complaints there, as there aren't bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze."
"The most valuable feature of Scale Computing HC3 is if one of the devices fails, you won't even notice, the service maintains operation. The customers don't have to waste two, or three days on delays. Additionally, you do not have to waste time with recovery software, it is a lot easier."

Cons

"Needs to improve the cloud integration, such as Azure and AWS."
"When it comes to performing backups, the dashboard is not intuitive and not user-friendly."
"The solution wasn't able to connect to the cloud, and there's no micro-segmentation. The configuration of this solution is also complex."
"File level restores work well, but indexing will help make the process faster."
"When we make some upgrades to the platform, it does take time to stabilize the structure again."
"Its price can be improved. Customers always look for better prices. It is more expensive as compared to other products available in the market."
"The solution is expensive; not every budget can fit it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It seemed like it was expensive at first. Now that I have had it installed for a period of time, I think I got a great deal."
"The time savings on the administration side of things is huge. We had somebody who was dedicated pretty much full-time to hardware, and now, they spend about a quarter of their time a year on hardware-related issues."
"There is not a license required for the solution."
"The solution can be expensive if you are using a lot of nodes."
"For most use cases, look to see if you can use all-flash as the price point, as it has come down significantly."
"In terms of the licenses, customers do not actually get any benefit."
"Scaling isn't cheap"
"It has helped to reduce our VMware licensing costs due to host consolidation."
"I pay for Scale Computing HC3 and it includes customer service for one year. We paid for an additional year for customer service but that includes the updates and everything for the software. Additionally, the licensing is for Windows, which is the same for everybody."
"rate HC3's pricing a five out of ten since it is affordable."
"The product is worth the money, but I would not say it's very cheap or very expensive."
"I give the pricing a nine out of ten."
