Has integrated solutions and rapid recovery made management smoother and more reliable
There is the latest update from HPE regarding HPE SimpliVity. For virtualization, HPE has to depend on other manufacturers, OEMs such as VMware or Hyper-V. Recently, HPE declared the VM essential virtualization solution. In the future, if HPE integrates HPE SimpliVity with VM essential, that will be a great combination. Functionality-wise, I am totally satisfied with HPE SimpliVity, but for improvement, if HPE integrates its own virtualization solution, this combination and integration will be beneficial because this integration can be configured with the cloud-based system. A VM can be uploaded to the cloud from this, which will be advantageous for backup to other sites.

Pros

"HPE SimpliVity is stable enough for our business; we never have a problem."
"Technical support is perfect. They explain to us the solution in a very clear and simple way."

"The initial setup was simple."
"The cache functionality is great, technical support is helpful and very knowledgeable of the product, the initial setup is pretty simple, the performance is good, it's stable and easy to operate, and the scalability is very good."
"The backup and restore features are the most valuable."
"The most valuable feature is that it's easy to manage, and it also has instantaneous backup and lag-free restore, so when everything is running, I can bring back a huge VM in less than 30 seconds, which is even better than Veeam."
"Up scaling is very possible, and at any time it is scalable."
"The solution is scalable."
"The most valuable feature of Scale Computing HC3 is if one of the devices fails, you won't even notice, the service maintains operation. The customers don't have to waste two, or three days on delays. Additionally, you do not have to waste time with recovery software, it is a lot easier."
"It gives the ease of management for a small IT department."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is the nice GUI."
"The solution is quite stable; it's rock solid, there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's quite reliable."

Cons

"While SimpliVity was a pioneer of cloud connect capability, they have simply not exploited it."
"It would be better if it could integrate more easily with other vendors."
"Increased storage capacity for big data, something that we have not had."
"Overall, SimpliVity has a lot of features, however, those features need to be more precise. It's like a jack of all trades and master of none."
"When it comes to performing backups, the dashboard is not intuitive and not user-friendly."
"The technical support is weak. It is a layered product."
"While it has been a while since HPE acquired SimpliVity, there is a lack of understanding/awareness about the product. In short, it took me time to actually make them understand they had a product named SimpliVity, which as you can imagine does not instill a great deal of confidence."
"It is not as flexible as we want. We have asked for some more granular scalability. For example, the ability to add some disks, and not another node, if we need more storage."
"Scale Computing HC3 said in an announcement they were going to integrate with a backup service which would be good."
"On the fly, you cannot do anything on Scale Computing HC3, though it is a very rarely needed area."
"I would like bigger clusters with more than eight nodes."
"The snapshot technology takes up 500 times more space compared to other solutions."
"I would like bigger clusters with more than eight nodes."
"I've had so many issues with the sales team when I was looking to make some improvements and improve the performance; they would create so many excuses to force me to buy new nodes all the time and not let me add more memory to each node."
"Scale HC3 improvements would involve literally fixing up the replication."
"I've had so many issues with the sales team when I was looking to make some improvements, and improve the performance. They would create so many excuses to force me to buy new nodes all the time and not let me add more memory to each node."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is affordable and quite reasonably priced in terms of the product one gets."
"This solution, while costly as all these solutions are, was in fact less expensive than upgrading my old SAN."
"It's about $10,000 monthly."
"Its licensing is quite easy. There is a model license, but it depends on the system you buy. There are no extra costs. There is only one license."
"It's a costly solution and is more expensive than VxRail."
"Cost of this product is high."
"The only thing that I think we are paying for is the VMware licenses, but we are enterprise, so it is not horrible."
"Its licensing is yearly."
"rate HC3's pricing a five out of ten since it is affordable."
"I pay for Scale Computing HC3 and it includes customer service for one year. We paid for an additional year for customer service but that includes the updates and everything for the software. Additionally, the licensing is for Windows, which is the same for everybody."
"I give the pricing a nine out of ten."
"The product is worth the money, but I would not say it's very cheap or very expensive."
