"It is easy to deploy to licenses."
"It is easy to set up the solution."
"The solution has the best stability for application control and inspections."
"FortiManager's most valuable features are web-based or web-rule-based policies, SD-WAN, and the ease of upgrading to new firmware."
"The most valuable feature is the central configuration for firewall policies."
"It is stable."
"It's very easy to install, and it's easy to discover and communicate with your device."
"SSL Offloading simplifies the public certificate handling and brings additional protection features."
"The ease of configuration is valuable. We have Azure WAF, we have OCI WAF, and we also have Cloud Armor for GCP, but their configuration isn't very easy. It's pretty simple in FortiWeb, and we can enable or configure whatever we want."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"L-7 protection makes possible to protect legacy/not up-to-date servers/applications without changing the application code."
"It's the extra security that is the most valuable feature. You have insight into your traffic. There are some great insights into what utilities hackers are trying to exploit. It blocks a lot of stuff from the internet."
"FortiWeb's ease of deployment is what we liked the most about it. Implementing FortiWeb was extremely fast and easy, which was a significant advantage. It comes with several preconfigured rule sets and templates."
"When we had Cisco we had around thirty thousand entries on our firewalls. Now we are down to three thousand. Fortinet has a mechanism to detect all of your entries which are not used, and it can clean it up."
"It can scale well."
"Its licensing model should be improved."
"This solution needs more experienced technical support staff. There's nothing special about it compared to other vendors."
"Pricing-wise, it could always be less, even though it is less expensive than Palo Alto."
"FortiManager could improve by making it easier to port larger policy packages to the FortiGate firewalls. Sometimes, there's an issue when we install a big package of policies. If you have a couple thousand policies for FortiGate firewalls, it can take a few minutes to receive a response from the remote devices. It's only an issue when you're dealing with thousands of policies and installing them on a large number of devices."
"The solution has to be enhanced to manage new switches."
"The FortiManager is more complex and they can make it easier to use the VPN manager. All other features are okay. However, the VPN manager is more difficult and can cause some issues in the environment, if you do not have the experience to use it."
"FortiManager could be more user-friendly."
"The SD-WAN solution is difficult to manage on FortiManager because you need to share some configurations on the firewall side. Sometimes you lose all connectivity with the firewall, so it is challenging to apply the default configuration to the SD-WAN solution."
"The solution is rather complicated. If you know what to do, it's not bad, but it's complicated for a first time user to configure the solution. What I'd like to improve are the custom signatures."
"I would like to have an antivirus option."
"The solution could improve by being able to handle different use cases."
"The false positives are annoying."
"It costs too much."
"The initial setup in our data center was somewhat complex."
"It is not entirely user-friendly."
"It can be better with web application firewalls."
